Senior Category Manager

Chewy is growing our healthcare business to better serve our customers pets needs. We are now looking for Senior Category Managers' to join our growing and fast-paced teams in Seattle, WA or Plantation, FL. We have very ambitious plans to further build our teams and businesses. In this role, you will own the P&L for a strategic category, negotiate to improve business terms, manage high profile vendor relationships directly, develop and execute business strategies, and identify opportunities to accelerate your business. At Chewy, we believe innovation is rewarded and execution is highly valued. Negotiation experience, verbal, written, and presentation skills are a must. Our ideal candidate is a versatile business leader with a track record of high performance, that can think big and operate at depth in parallel.


What You'll Do:

  • Have full P&L ownership
  • Establish, build, and manage strong external vendor relationships, including ownership across all negotiations
  • Build and implement, based on research and data insights, strategies and plans to both recruit new customers to Chewy and to develop existing customers via lifecycle management concepts
  • Identify opportunities within your category to optimize and maximize product performance, including analyzing sales data, assortment gaps, and market trends to make quick, effective decisions for your business
  • Work cross-functionally with finance, marketing, supply chain, pricing, and customer service to ensure collaboration as well as holistic planning and execution


What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years of holistic business experience in top ecommerce, retail, FMCG, or similar organizations
  • 5+ years of category management experience, including sole P&L owner of an important business.
  • Strong comprehensive business acumen. Fluent in vendor management, product management, marketing, supply chain, operations, and project management.
  • Demonstrated success building and rapidly scaling new, complex businesses at high growth rate.
  • Proven operator, skilled in high quality go-to-market execution, with an unshakable growth mindset
  • Excellent communication, strategic and analytical skills
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred.

  • MBA desired 
  • Business and leadership experience in market-leading organizations; both in large complex organizations and start-up businesses
  • SQL a plus, Tableau experience a plus

Compensation & Benefits:

Our salary range for a Sr Category Manager position is $129,500.00 - $207,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
