Senior Brand Manager

Los Angeles, CA

Want to work for one of the most loved cannabis companies in California? The Senior Brand Manager will play an integral role across multiple brands including Almora, Surplus and Lift Tickets and report directly to the Head of Marketing. This position will also assist with business cases for the innovation pipeline with an emphasis on differentiating products within a crowded marketplace. A successful candidate will have stage gate experience and the ability to maintain brand guardrails while considering the overarching brand portfolio strategy. WHAT YOU'RE GOOD AT:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for new product business cases including assessing the market size of potential new categories leveraging a consumer, company, and competitive analysis while considering price, product, promotions, and placement
  • Developing integrated new product launch campaigns with a focus on building awareness
  • Driving break-through creative work with a focus on building brand equity and establishing key points of differentiation
  • Developing POS and online resources for product launches with a strong attention to detail
  • Partnering with sales to develop customer sell-in presentations and new marketing materials for launches
  • Collaborating with sales and retail partners to effectively execute commercial plans and to develop programing for key customers
  • Working to develop activation initiatives and promotions while overseeing execution
  • Developing cost estimates while working with R&D and Operations to build P&Ls for new products/line extensions
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams (R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, QA, Operations, Design, etc.) to ensure strong business plans and execution
  • Assisting with building new vendor relationships
  • Managing and tracking budgets
  • Developing an annual marketing plan to ensure growth targets are reached
  • Guide the innovation strategy informed by brand architecture and demand spaces focusing on incremental line extensions
  • Work with internal and external partners to identify brand and category trends to inform business strategy


COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required; MBA preferred
  • 4+ years of CPG brand marketing and P&L management experience; cannabis experience is preferred
  • Ability to thrive in and handle ambiguity & fast paced environment
  • Strong business acumen and marketing abilities coupled with cross functional partnership skills
  • A go-getter, self-motivator, can-do approach to work, and a bias for action
  • Eager to research and create new business relationships independently
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively while working with little supervision
  • Ability to set agenda and chart course forward in a lean team environment
  • Ability to think out-of-the box and drive creative solutions
  • Experience with interpreting financials and in managing a budget
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence in a matrix environment
  • Experience involving product pricing, packaging and brand positioning
  • Passion for the consumer with creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills while being process orientated
  • Very organized and hard-working with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Team orientated with a successful track record based on executing cross-functional projects
  • Prior experience in the commercialization process involving new product launches
