Senior Accountant

Remote (Minneapolis, MN)

The role represents a unique opportunity to be a key member of the accounting team at a rapidly growing e-commerce startup. We are seeking an experienced and versatile accountant who can manage a wide variety of responsibilities and grow with the company.

Responsibilities

Run monthly close procedures including the preparation of recurring month-end journal entries; review team journal entries and account reconciliations
Own monthly close activities related to inventory, cost of goods, and inventory-related accruals and payables
Build and run efficient 3-way match, invoice reconciliation, and freight and duty allocation processes, leveraging data from multiple systems and excel
Manage processes to assure accurate landed inventory values; partner with supply chain teams to streamlines processes
Develop and enforce inventory internal control policies and procedures
Assist with reconciling and analyzing various balance sheet accounts including identification and explanation of variances
Lead inventory roll forwards, ad hoc analyses and special projects as needed

Required Experience

Degree in Accounting, Finance or related Business
3+ years accounting experience
Inventory accounting expertise and significant experience owning inventory accounting
Extensive knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
Proficient with accounting systems (Netsuite a plus)
