SAP Data Engineer

This SAP Data Engineer position will work with CHS’ Information Technology division on our Business Intelligence Team, and will apply knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning, Integration, and BI Technologies, including: full-life cycle of large and complex enterprise platform upgrades and implementations, implementing solutions according to the Agile methodology, managing tasks for the delivery of multiple concurrent projects, and reporting tools and metadata creation.


Responsibilities

Specific duties include the following: 1) designing, developing, and testing of information models within the S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and BEP platforms; 2) interacting with Project United Functional Analysts, Enterprise Information Management, Enterprise/Solution Architects (EA), and Business Analysts (BA) to gather high level business requirements; 3) translating functional specifications into technical specifications, while conforming to enterprise standards and industry best practices; 4) creating database schemas, physical models, indexes, compose views, develop scripts; 5) working various stakeholders to identify and establish data feeds to various HANA instances; 6) participating in the planning and coordination of releases to production to ensure project timelines and release schedules are followed and deadlines are ultimately met; 7) ensuring promotion of content throughout the HANA landscape using SAP Solution Manager or HALM; 8) participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and associated troubleshooting of issues; 9) collaborating with SAP BASIS and Security team to design and implement analytic privileges to secure and limit access for HANA views; 10) assisting with HANA performance tuning and query optimization effort; 11) creating and extending semantically-rich models such as CDS Views; creating Queries using advanced SQL and BW/4HANA Queries. Tools and technology utilized in the position include: developing analytics apps in the SAP HANA 2.0 XS Advanced and Classic environments, as well as SAP reporting platform – SAP HANA 2.0/1.0, SAP NetWeaver BW 7.4/7.5, SAP BO 4.1, SAP ECC.

 

Minimum Qualifications (required)

Requirements: The qualified candidate must have the minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field. The qualified candidate must also have at least 5 years (60 months) of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience working with SAP BW and SAP HANA. The qualified candidate must also have at least 2 Years (24 Months) of experience with all of the following: 1) Participating in blueprint workshop sessions with business process owners to capture advanced SAP BW on HANA modeling and real-time modeling requirements.; 2) Debugging of BW/HANA data models for high performance stands point to accommodate real time reporting scenarios to avoid data latency, data redundancy and less data footprint; 3) Interacting with teams from solution design to go live phase for accurate integration between the teams like System analysts, Business Analysts and End user group; 4) Being responsible for end to end testing of application by planning, designing and evaluating the test approach, test plan, test procedures and processes for unit, Integration, performance and User acceptance testing; 5) Translating functional specifications into technical specifications, while conforming to enterprise standards and industry best practices; 6) Creating database schemas, physical models, indexes, compose views, develop scripts; 7) Developing S4HANA/BW4HANA solution Virtual/Persistent Data Modelling analytics by using CDS views like Basic, Composite, Consumption views, Table Functions, AMDP and Composite Provider, Advanced DSO, Open ODS view, Process chain development in BW4HANA Cockpit; 8) Performing work using the following tools/technologies: SAP HANA 2.0/1.0, SAP NetWeaver BW 7.4/7.5, SAP BO 4.1, SAP ECC. All experience may be gained concurrently. Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN.
