Sales Planning Specialist

Herndon, VA

The Sales Planning Specialist will work with all Vehicle Sales and Operations teams as well as Regional and Field teams to steer variant production mixes, identify potential inventory constraints and recommend adjustments. This role will also support all planning activities, including Audi Planning Round, scenario planning, reporting and adhoc.


Role Responsibilities

Short Term Planning Analysis (25%)

  • Support volume planning for respective segments in short and mid-term.
  • Analyze competitive strategies in the segment, including, BEV penetration, number of current and future entries, evaluate impact on Audi Market Share.
  • Expert level understanding of how these cars perform in the market, and continually evaluate sales potential and explore additional opportunities.


Sales Planning Document (25%)

  • Ensure all data is correct, including sales, wholesales, and inventory actuals
  • Reconcile and validate production volume based on MPL and current pipeline
  • Adjust vehicle volumes and mixes to match sales history and available inventory
  • Identify potential misalignments between sales and production, create recommendations
  • Work with Ordering team to steer IMF mixes to align with market demand



Sales Close (20%)

  • Support monthly sales close process
  • Follow the Sales Reporting Policy to ensure all non-retail units are reported correctly by OMD
  • Provide hourly sales updates
  • Publish all reports after sales close


Analytics and Digitization (15%)

  • Utilize strong data management, data analysis and communication skills provide support to Vehicle Sales and Operations team and management
  • Create backend databases to support analytical requests and executive dashboards
  • Build and improve visualizations which clearly highlight trends, opportunities and risks
  • Create forecasts of dealer attainment levels, recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Maintain Market Intelligence Repositories , utilize third party systems and databases (e.g., PIN, Polk, MTAB, NVES, JD Power, Global Insight)

  • Support all related adhoc requests, including dealer specific analysis, data reconciliation, what if scenarios

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
  • MBA or Advanced Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics or related field (desired)

Specialized Skills:

  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Advanced analytical skills with ability to develop insights from complex datasets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Tableau (desired)
  • 3+ years of automotive experience (desired)


Work Flexibility:

  • Limited travel required for occasional meetings and training
