Sales Manager

The team you will be a part of

The Field Sales team develops and manages relationships through phone and on-site visits. Negotiates partnership agreements to achieve desired revenue and profitability objectives. Drives joint partner/channel sales opportunities. Uses sales tools for accurate forecasting of current and future business.


The Sales Manager role supporting FBS Appliance is based in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible to develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan to grow revenue, market share, and volume through dedicated support of our top strategic trade customers.


Your primary focus will be cultivating relationships and growing the business through long-term strategic initiatives. Utilize insights-driven selling approaches and joint business planning to drive sales through proactive in-store support. Meet and collaborate with trade customers to strategically plan programming and marketplace investment funding for mutual business growth. Prospect and engage with direct builders to expand Whirlpool's project pipeline. This role consists of up to 25% travel within the assigned geographic area.


Your responsibilities will include

  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with the buying team as well as store managers and sales associates at trade customers
  • Develop pricing, programming, marketing plans and sales execution strategies
  • Deliver revenue, margin, share goals and deliver accurate volume forecasts
  • Manage allowances and local merchandising funds to maximize return on investment
  • Share best practices and lead special projects as needed within the region and channel team


Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of strategic selling and negotiating experience, preferably in the appliance industry


Preferred skills and experiences

  • Experience developing strong customer relationships to develop and grow business 
  • Experience using data to influence decisions across senior stakeholders and leaders
  • Experience delivering persuasive presentations
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Knowledge of professional sales process and insights-driven selling
  • Familiarity with the retail distribution channel
  • Familiarity with the contract distribution channel in the single-family, multi-family, and authorized contract distributor segments
