Sales Manager

The WordStream Sales Manager role leads a Direct Inside Sales Team at its Headquarters in Boston, MA.


In this role, the Manager is directly responsible for the monthly quota roll-up of the team they manage. The Sales Manager is also responsible for implementation of the Wordstream sales methodology within their team, achievement of new sales quota each month, uncovering and implementing new strategies for growth, and the professional development of their team.

  • Supervise and manage a team of 5-10 sales executives and Sales Team Leaders.
  • With exception of sick days and PTO, be in attendance on the sales floor each day from at least 9am – 6pm, directly interacting and coaching the team.
  • Manage and coach each individual on the team across a number of key performance metrics including; prospecting, discovery calls, GAP analysis, demos and closing skills.
  • Build skills, confidence and trust with direct reports as well as provide developmental feedback for continuous improvement. Meet regularly with team members in 1:1 sessions.
  • Develop talent on team, prepare new leaders and promote either from within team or to other teams
  • Work toward having every sales executive on their team achieve or exceed quota each month.
  • Work and collaborate with other sales managers, directors and executives across our organization
  • Supervise and conduct training on skills improvement, both at the individual level and across the team. Maintain outstanding presentation skills.
  • Actively engage in new hire interviews, talent assessment and hiring.
  • Maintain and grow headcount through recruiting, selecting and training top sales talent
  • Address performance issues on their team including delivering formal Performance Improvement Plans (PIP). In the event of a Reps failure to meet requirements of PIP, the Sales Manager, with support of HR, is responsible for the dismissal of Rep from the company.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of digital advertising space including, but not limited to: Google Ads, BING Ads, Facebook Ads.
  • Maintain a complete understanding of all of WordStream and LOCALiQ’s product and service offerings at a level where they can coach team members.

  • Strong analytic skills to manage rep progression and pipeline.
  • Experience with dashboard management and reporting in Salesforce.
  • Punctual, reliable and responsible.
