Sales Intern, Community Solar

Boston, MA

Nexamp is seeking a Community Solar Administrative Intern to start immediately to support Sales and Operations for Nexamp’s growing Community Solar program that covers multiple geographic markets and thousands of customers. This is a 6 month internship requiring 35-40 hours per week in our Boston, MA HQ. The intern will work with a dedicated, cross-departmental team based in our Boston, MA headquarters. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated individual with an interest in sales, customer service, marketing, or research. Although an interest in renewable energy is helpful, experience in this field is not a requirement.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review consumers’ electricity usage and rates using utility-provided data and analyze using Nexamp’s in-house Excel models. Training will be provided.
  • Enter customer data into Salesforce and support the maintenance of our customer database for sales and invoicing purposes.
  • Provide back-up support to our sales and customer service teams by answering incoming customer calls.
  • Provide research support, including gathering competitive intelligence, market sizing, and identifying local events or organizations that may be of value to our outreach efforts.
  • Assist with sales presentations and proposals, and with outreach at fairs or other tabling events.
  • Provide additional support to the Community Solar team, as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player. Key qualifications are as follows:
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills.
  • Prior experience in conducting online market research.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including comfort using Excel.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platform is preferred but not required.
