Sales Coordinator

Greenville, SC

The purpose of this position is to support corporate functions and business lines in winning new work, promoting accomplishments by aligning with company strategies and objectives, creating compelling value propositions, developing effective communications materials, and implementing good business administration and marketing practices. This position collaborates with corporate marketing functions and Fluor business lines to develop marketing strategies and incorporate into sales and marketing materials. This position typically has business line/functional lead management and coordination responsibilities and direct/indirect reporting relationships with Marketing Specialists and/or Marketing Technicians.


  • Communicates to management significant activities in regard to new work prospects, ongoing projects, current proposals, and client visits.
  • Maintains an awareness of marketing decisions, status of client proposal evaluations and acceptance, and contract negotiations.
  • Coordinates Business Group business planning process, Strategic Plans, Key Business Activities (KBAs), documentation for quarterly review meetings and any other key Business Group documents or presentations.
  • Acts as a liaison between Business Group management, business line leads, KBA leaders, account managers, proposal teams, etc., maintaining continuity of communication concerning strategy, marketing and sales efforts
  • Expedites and coordinates bid decisions and management approval of commercial and contractual terms
  • Coordinates and facilitates requests of other marketing groups, including but not limited to, Marketing Research, Client Relations, Communications and Strategic Planning
  • Oversees maintenance of current sales information for the Business Group, including contract awards, sales activity and sales prospects in CTW.
  • Organizes and conducts bi-weekly sales meeting always being prepared to give the sales report for any absent salesperson.
  • Supports Executive visits by preparing intelligence information such as briefing documents, sound bites, client biographies.
  • Expedites and supports the timely selection of proposed team members.
  • Supports the development of Strategy-to-Win strategies to guide the proposal/presentation process and takes the responsibility that those strategies become fully developed and are incorporated in the proposal/presentation
  • Coordinates the proposal development process including schedule, storyboarding, Red Team review, revising and improving the document, coordinating of meetings (bid/no bid, commercial reviews, strategy development, etc.) and ensuring timely completion of contributions by others.
  • Supports Executive visits by preparing intelligence information such as briefing documents, sound bites, client biographies.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner


Preferred Qualifications

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in business, marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related discipline preferred
  • Six (6) years experience in positions that provide a broad view of business, technical writing, project management, and/or industrial marketing
  • Work experience in marketing and line experience in one or more functions is desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer and software skills and knowledge to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet, electronic presentation programs, Lotus Notes, and other marketing-related applications
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) industry practices and methodologies is desirable, but can be acquired through related work experience and/or external and internal education opportunities
