Retail Training Trainee

New York, NY

The Dior Corporate Trainee participates in a program designed to identify and develop future talent for the organization across functional areas. The Training Trainee will work with the Training department to support training and education initiatives. By working closely with their assigned Department, the Trainee supports the organization’s short and long-term objectives through day to day administrative and long-term project work. Trainees across departments will collaborate to develop initiatives to improve business results, and present plans to Executive Leadership Team.

 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create content and design training materials following vision and formatting standards of department
  • Assist in planning and organization of training events
  • Participate in training events
  • Responsible for the department’s admin tasks: calendar, shipping and receiving, working with new and existing vendors for training needs/supplies/gifting etc.
  • Contribute to the research of information based on department needs
  • Work with reporting tools such as sell thru reports, picture selling and additional merch tools to support Trainings
  • Keep log of Training samples & oversee loans across departments
  • Assist with styling shoots surrounding collection launches (extended hours applicable)


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full-time, 6 Month Program
  • Must be available M-F, 9am-6pm and occasional weekends as it relates to retail business events
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word), specifically excellent skills in PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Fashion GPS and Adobe programs preferred (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign, Creative Suite)
  • Prior experience is preferred
  • Creative ability strongly desired in conjunction with graphic design skills
  • Strong sense of fashion and fashion terminology
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask and problem solve; self starter
  • Ability to learn quickly, retain processes, own projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and follow-through skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate needs
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks according to business needs


The hourly pay is $20 per hour.
