The key charter of the Business Optimization team is to remove inefficiencies from processes and make it easier for our store team’s to serve and delight our clients. Whether we are optimizing our existing processes, or supporting the day-to-day activities taking place in stores, this team is focused on enabling world-class operations and serving as a true voice for our stores.
In addition to our optimization work, we also manage key platforms that provide operational insights to our corporate and field partners. As part of this team, you’ll have the opportunity to impact key areas of our business and play an integral part in ensuring Sephora remains a place our clients love to visit.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify opportunities for store optimizations that can be scaled fleet-wide, build business cases for proposed changes, and manage execution of proof-of-concepts, pilots, and support fleet rollouts in the field
- leads project management efforts, ROI calculations and significant amounts of data analysis
- Support managing the labor model by producing data-based guidance and ad hoc analysis. Perform work studies in stores for creating and maintaining labor standards.
- Lead store visits to determine best practices, identify areas for optimizations, and conduct time studies to improve overall efficiency.
- Establish and build on cross-functional relationships with corporate as well as field partners to gain feedback and align on key recommendations.
- Diagnose store operations performance challenges, developing operational action plans.
- Define project success criteria by developing Key Performance Indicators, qualitative feedback questions, and cost/benefit analysis and lead cross-functional teams to deliver required results in accordance with corporate expectations and timelines.
- Prepare and present clear, data-based recommendations to illustrate findings to Executive-level audiences and gain credibility based upon recommendations
We are excited about you if you have
- 10+ years of retail management experience at retailers with large store networks of varying store types and volumes.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint and word, and experience with analyzing complex data. Experience with Smartsheets a plus.
- Must be based in complex market as defined by Sephora, these include NYC, Boston, Miami, Chicago, LA or District of Columbia.
- Obsession with designing and implementing practical and scalable optimizations.
- Ability to effectively communicate up, down, and across the organization, with stores, and with field leaders, store leadership, and store associates.
- P&L management and/or financial management experience with the ability to understand how various lines of the P&L are impacted with a change.
- Ability to prioritize focus areas and opportunities effectively based on ROI at scale
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
- Flexibility and adaptability to pivot daily responsibilities as business demand change

The annual base salary range for this position is $124,100.00 - $165,110.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
