Retail Marketing Manager

About the role:

To drive long term growth at Dyson by developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and merchandising programs for strategic third-party retailers.

  • Author, agree and deliver the omni-channel strategy for key accounts
  • Draft retail strategy based on category analysis, retailer insights and sales objectives to inform account marketing, merchandising and event plans
  • Develop annual budget to support account initiatives and monitor spending monthly
  • Analyze complex problems, identify solutions and influence others to achieve positive outcomes
  • Create clear and compelling presentations to communicate strategies and plans to internal stakeholders and retailers
  • Execute projects flawlessly with focus on stakeholder, timeline and budget management


Record and report trade marketing activity for selected accounts

  • Ensure retail activity tracker and store master documents are up to date on monthly basis
  • Analyze campaign and in-store performance and report results with lessons learned
  • Adopt a test/learn/refine approach to trialing new activities to further understanding of shopper behavior


Coordinate omni-channel launches for new products

  • Develop account-specific merchandising plan in alignment with category strategy and global creative direction
  • Oversee new in-store POP materials and fixtures from authoring excellent briefs to flawless execution
  • Partner with retailers to create new product pages and refresh brand pages
  • Lead development of sell-in materials to internal and external stakeholders
  • Audit activities and tackle improvements needed to ensure consistency across touchpoints and flawless execution 


Drive business with key accounts through tailored marketing & merchandising programs

  • Collaborate with retailers and shopper media team to develop and execute annual marketing programs in line with Dyson category objectives and shopper insights
  • Identify and implement new fixture programs to elevate the Dyson presence in-store
  • Execute retailer events to convert employees and shoppers into Dyson brand advocates
  • Coordinate internal resources to support and deliver against agreed plans
  • Report results and lessons learned to inform future marketing strategy
  • Drive ‘out of the box’ thinking to deliver new and innovative marketing tactics


Drive quantification of trade marketing activity

  • Adopt a test/learn/refine approach to trialing new activities to further the business and roll out the most effective activities as best practice
  • Work closely with analytics team to understand financial feasibility of future projects as well as performance of completed projects
  • Seek opportunities to increase efficiency of marketing investments

About you:

  • 5+ years of marketing experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required – not necessarily business related but must display good commercial acumen / relevant experience.
  • Ability to drive projects from concept through implementation, to analyze results and provide strong rationale for recommendations
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Detailed organizational capability 
  • Experience working with in-store and online marketing materials including merchandising, POP, and .com
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Ability to manage budget
  • Experience with MS Office – especially Excel / PPT
  • Can demonstrate a ‘can do’ / entrepreneurial attitude
  • Quick thinker to solve problems, draw financial conclusions and make fast, accurate decisions
  • Ability to deliver projects in full, on time, on budget and to the highest quality
  • Travel to key accounts required (1-2x month)
