Retail Execution Manager

The Retail Execution Manager position will be responsible for leading a joint business planning process with key customer teams in the Military, Convenience and Natural channels. This planning process will lead to the development of monthly retail execution priorities that are implemented by a third-party broker organization with syndicated store level representatives. This individual develops KPIs, communicates expectations and monitors progress via market visits & virtual retail store visits working with our third-party broker organization to ensure appropriate retail conditions always exist. Scorecarding, product knowledge and channel expertise will be a key factor in the success of this role. In addition, this person will use the third-party broker’s data tools/systems to provide continual “real time” communication with Senior Leaders within the Campbell Organization.

Principal Accountabilities:

Strategy Development & Execution:

  • Worked w/ channel specific sales leaders to develop annual and monthly retail KPIs
  • Partner w/ brand and customer development leads to become the retail expert on Pacific foods brand.
  • Understand the consumer and retail customer variations across multiple classes of trade. (Convenience, Grocery, Military, Natural and Drug, etc.)
  • Regularly engage with retail broker partners to identify and discuss business growth and opportunities.
  • Periodically visit stores to identify service strengths and opportunities of broker partner.
  • Develop strong relationships across multiple levels of the broker retail organization.
  • Track net sales goals of retail broker partners to identify best practices and opportunities.
  • Collaborate across the organization to deliver results.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure selling materials are developed to be leveraged by broker sales reps.

Retail Broker Engagement:

  • Manage use of resources and technology to help support the retail broker partners. 
  • Share market information with retail broker partners and collaborate with them on problems and opportunities.
  • Act as key liaison between Customer Team strategy and retail broker partners.  
  • Collaborate regularly with retail broker partners on growth opportunities and customer expectations 
  • Build stronger relationships through regular in-person connections and support
  • Drive speed to shelf on new item innovation
  • Ensure planogram compliance and must stock SKUs
  • Communicate daily/weekly on retailer standards, sales opportunities, customer expectations
  • Manage use of resources and technology to help support the retail broker partners. 
  • Clear understanding of the retail broker execution model.

Job Complexity:

  • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with retail broker partners through regular engagement (retailers, etc.) 
  • Deliver against key channel specific KPIs
  • Contribute to ACV display gains in key accounts and region geography 
  • Selling and negotiation skills
  • Leverage technology to make informed business decisions 
  • Align on monthly priorities and follow through to exceed expectations 
  • Provide real-time feedback /insights on store-level opportunities
  • Leverage data systems to ensure DSMP compliance

Job Specifications:

  • Minimum education required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Years of relevant experience: 5-10 years

  • Travel (35%)
  • Must be able to relocate as required

Travel Required:

Must be able to travel within territory (total US) to company meetings, company training and other regions as business needs demand.
