Retail Assistant Manager

Clearwater, FL

We are hiring Assistant Retail Managers for each of our corporate stores in Palm Harbor, Largo and Clearwater.


This position reports directly to the Store Manager and is responsible for assisting the store manager in supervising the staff, paperwork, and daily operations of a Pinch A Penny retail store.


The individual must be a self-starter, able to operate the store as if it were his/her own business. The job requires long hours and complete responsibility for the operation of the store. Must maintain a satisfactory attendance record and work weekends and some holidays.


Required Skills

High school graduate or higher education. Retail sales and sales management experience required. Knowledge of pool equipment, supplies, and related products preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Responsible for all retail store operations and activities in a Pinch-A-Penny store which specializes in the sale of pool and spa products, furniture and other pool/patio products.
  • Maintains strong customer relations and performs, or supervises, the performance of the following duties.
  • Opens and closes the store, maintains accurate daily records of all sales and closes out the register at the end of each day.
  • Helps customers, solves problems, and answers questions.
  • Oversees associates, ensuring that all merchandise is clean, priced, and that shelves are properly stocked and that the appropriate display and fixtures are set up.
  • Assists in providing a clean, safe, and uncluttered workplace for associates and customers.
  • Assists in promoting a pleasant working environment.
  • Assists in stocking and merchandising the store.
  • Responsible for assisting in the staffing, training, and supervising of all retail associates in the following areas.
  • Customer service
  • Safety
  • Water testing
  • Cash register operation
  • Product information knowledge
  • Follow Corporate policies and procedures
  • Adhere to dress code
  • Responsible for assisting in administrative paperwork in the following areas:
  • Daily bank deposit
  • Cash & Sales report
  • POS reports
  • Vendor invoices/returns
  • Accounts receivables statements
  • Staff schedules
  • Payroll information
  • Store waste & usage
  • Premium items
  • Special reports, etc.
  • Responsible for pool service and repairs, if applicable to location.
  • Responsible for maintaining all employed security systems.
  • Any other duties, as assigned.

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.


Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively and very often during each workday. Bending, stooping, stretching, and walking often, and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to interact with customers.
