Regional Commercial Sales Account Manager

Hilliard, OH

This position is responsible for outside commercial sales, lead generation, client procurement, and commercial job management as required. This person’s primary role will be outside sales of F&D’s Commercial products to medium to large institutional buyers. This person will work on behalf of the stores to pursue leads sourced at the store level and act as a liaison between store, inside commercial sales team, and the end user customer. In addition, this person will work as a team with the Inside Commercial Team to source, bid, and administer large commercial jobs.


Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company Experience in the commercial sales environment a must
  • Experience in Salesforce or other CRM use is a must Experience required in RFPs, commercial job bids, and general construction sales
  • Experience working in a retail environment a plus
  • Ability to read blue prints Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Strong analytical skills and problem-solving Must be detail-oriented and highly organized Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate level Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must pass pre-employment background check


Essential Job Functions:

  • Work with the Regional Director of PRO Services to focus sales efforts on developed and Internet leads, and working with store leads to maximize sales efforts
  • Work with the PRO Teams in each location to pursue commercial leads passed along by the store team and help assist in the closing process
  • Receive and process requests for large sales purchases from the stores
  • Regularly meet with new customers to assess level of satisfaction with services and to develop a list of strong referrals Submit proposals and responses to RFQs and RFPs issued by prospective customers after obtaining pricing and specifications approval from management, as appropriate
  • Follow-up with the Inside Commercial Sales on key dates to complete the sales and satisfy the customer
  • Work with the purchasing and inventory teams via inside commercial sales team to procure product currently available or if a special purchase order (PO) is needed Stay current on merchandise training, new products and product lines
  • Partner with the SSC logistics team via inside commercial sales team to coordinate special delivery requests
  • Participate in trade associations and trade shows, and assists in other promotional efforts
  • Analyze local market to identify market opportunities, prospective companies and associated buyers
  • Follow-up on referrals and self-generated leads to identify buyer influences and any timing issues
  • Monitor prospects’ contract calendars and prepare reports on status of leads and other reports as required
  • Solicit orders and process approved services schedules Strive to achieve goals for new commercial customers
  • Perform additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary in order to achieve assigned business objectives
  • Bilingual in Spanish would be helpful


Working Conditions (Travel & Environment)

  • Limited travel required travel required including air and car travel
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate
