We are currently hiring a Region Manager, Cannabis reporting to the Director, Head of Cannabis, BBCCC, located in Toronto, Canada.


What You'll Do: The Region Manager, Cannabis (RM) is responsible for delivering BCCC’s sales volume and market goals through the internal BBCCC team, distributors, and the area’s account base in accordance with direction from the Director, Head of Cannabis. The Rm collaborates with the distributor on creating and executing a multi-market strategy for all BBCCC products, is accountable for increasing the availability and visibility of the BBCCC portfolio in his/her area, and works closely with the distributor to drive National programs to the account level. The RM must deliver the annual plans by channel and is also indirectly responsible for aiding in the overall growth of the cannabis beverage category. The RM must accomplish these goals while adhering to and authoring BBC’s selling process in the cannabis category.


Essential Responsibilities:

Canadian Commercial Execution:

  • Sales Targets: Responsible for quarterly sales by region
  • Align on forecast with distributors
  • Set, monitor, and deliver distribution targets
  • Set, monitor, and deliver velocity targets


Distributor Management & Planning: Must be able to timely and successfully organize and deliver, with direction from the Head of Cannabis:

  • Strategic and tactical plans in coordination with distributor to include: annual volume goals, distribution goals, visibility, and program goals by distributor
  • Budgeting forecasts by market and channel
  • Pricing strategies by package in accordance with BBC initiatives and market knowledge


Market Management and Development (Hunting): Seeks and maintains new business by:

  • Managing key accounts through increased distribution and programming while building and maintaining professional business relationships to include: ownership, management, budtender
  • Identifying and prioritizing opportunities for incremental volume at the region level
  • Developing strategies to close identified opportunities in conjunction with the region’s management team and distributors
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo at BBC/BBCCC and with our distributors and retailers
  • Pioneer BBCCC’s on-premise strategy


Merchandising: Supports brands in conjunction with the distributor and BBC team:

  • Supervise POS programs at retail and on-premise to standard in coordination with brand team
  • Execute BBCCC’s freshness standards


Training Development: Develops the BBCCC cannabis sales playbook:

  • Coordinate with BBC/BBCCC training teams best practices for the above, allowing for a scalable knowledge transfer for future markets
  • Facilitate training to new commercial hires


Budget Management: Must stay within all allocated budgets

  • Manage area’s trade budgets
  • Manage personal and team’s T&E budgets

 

What We're Looking For:

Required Experience

  • 2+ years in cannabis category management experience, 5+ years of beverage category management experience 
  • 4 year bachelors degree
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to lift one case of beer.
  • 25-30% travel to attend retail and distributors’ meetings, as well as BBCCC/BBC
  • Knowledge: Must be current and fluent in:
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in:
  • Brand styles, brand priorities, national programs, and brand strategy
  • Romancing all products to include style, ingredients, and pairings
  • Beverage and cannabis industry trends and current market trends
  • Market and competitors to include: distribution and volume trends, market share, distributor network, supplier network
  • Analyzing sales data and trends to include: sales trends, opportunity gaps, customers, competitive activities, and BBC/distributor activities that affect the market

 

Desired Experience

  • Adult alcohol industry experience strongly preferred, cannabis beverage experience strongly preferred
