Real Estate Counsel

Bridgewater, NJ

Business-oriented, accomplished real estate attorney experienced in retail and office and facility leasing.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Review, prepare and negotiate leases (including initial drafts, sometimes using existing lease templates, and negotiated changes incorporating comments of other parties), lease amendments, letters of intent, RFP’s, pop-up, license agreements and other short-term real estate documents, correspondence and other related real estate agreements and documents.
  • Review and negotiate related real estate documents such as subordination/non-disturbance agreements, estoppel certificates and the like.
  • Perform “quality control” reviews of documents to insure that all leases and other agreements comply with applicable PVH requirements and protocols.
  • Work both independently and together with Assistant General Counsel/Real Estate on office, retail, warehouse and storage facilities and related real estate transactions.
  • Interface and work cooperatively and strategically with other PVH departments, such as Design and Construction, Operations, Accounting and Finance (as appropriate), in conjunction with document review and completion process.
  • In-House Attorney and/or equivalent work experience (i.e. private firm), especially in the area of retail/real estate.
  • Manage and review the work of outside counsel; review outside firm invoices and coordinate with internal PVH departments.
  • Review leases and other contracts to provide guidance to the Company on specific questions as they arise. 
  • Assist Leasing Services Manager with maintaining the department leasing schedule, approving lease abstracts upon deal completion and lease tracking system..
  • Attend and participate in periodic Department meetings. 
  • Review and assist with periodic updates to Company’s document form/templates.


Experience:  10 years relevant experience. 

        

Education:  JD required


Skills:  Excellent and precise writing and communication skills; computer skills, including, Word, Outlook, excel and Costar or other similar lease-tracking software familiarity; ability to function cooperatively and productively in a team environment. Candidate should be self-sufficient, detail-oriented and be able to “bottom-line” issues and problems for executive and/or manager review and expedited decision-making.
