Quality Technician
The Quality Technician will verify that production activities and staff comply with all regulations through on-site observation, inspections and auditing, ensuring that any deviations are documented, managed and controlled. The Quality Technician will complete preoperational inspections of facilities and equipment prior to production start-up.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing in-process controls such as swabbing equipment for micro contamination and/or residue; settling plates (air testing), water testing, etc.
- Perform documentation review (i.e. batch manufacturing and/or packaging records, etc.) with high attention to detail using working knowledge of quality concepts and internal procedures.
- Coordinate with other Quality and Production employees to ensure all records are prepared and/or reviewed in a timely manner.
- Prepare and present quality investigation reports.
- Audit production equipment records for preventative maintenance and calibrations, including balances in rooms, probes, and equipment filters.
- Ensure that all activities are documented as indicated in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/batch manufacturing instructions and are compliant with GDP, and with the Cannabis Regulations.
- Assists with process improvement activities and assists in appropriate re-training
- Work in compliance of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Comply with Quality standard operating procedures, policies and guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency to communicate (both verbally and written) in the English language
- Demonstrated attention to detail in a fast paced, high stress environment
- Must be completely proficient in Microsoft Office
- Result- oriented with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and time lines
- Commitment to working in a team environment, with established team building abilities
- Posses a high level of good judgement
- Good observation skills
- Flexibility in scheduling
Work Conditions
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- May on occasion be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
- May work near others and can share the same work space.
