Project Manager

Los Angeles, CA

As a Project Manager, you will play a vital role supporting our Professional Hair and Nail expansion across The Wella Company by leading a project to grow penetration with Independent Stylists across North America. You will partner closely across the technology, product, marketing, and operations teams locally and globally to track and bake in best practices that allow our Company to function to the highest possible standard. You will work with our multi-functional team of digital, marketing and education throughout the entire project lifecycle, and will be responsible for project planning, results scorecards and tracking team progress and driving the Agile Program Management. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Guides and coaches the Project Team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers. 
  • Coach team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques. 
  • Responsible for ensuring Scrum Methodology is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines. 
  • Coaches the Project Team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge and communicates effectively, both internally and externally working within the Project Team. 
  • Works with Project Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams. 
  • Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization. 
  • Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. 
  • Acts as a leader who coaches and supports Agile teams assigned to mainly Business as Usual (BAU) work and to a lesser degree, important department initiatives and applicable portions of corporate projects and initiatives. 
  • Facilitate Team Schedules (sprint planning, grooming and retros) 
  • Conduct team meetings and keep everyone on track 
  • Track team progress (gather metrics around code quality, testing, etc) 
  • Heavily involved in Sprint Review, helping teams prepare 
  • Drive Agile methodologies and create consistency within the teams 
  • Lead the scrum team in using Agile methodology and scrum practices 
  • Helping the product owner and development team to achieve customer satisfaction 
  • Remove impediments and coach the scrum team on removing impediments 
  • Help the scrum and development teams to identify and fill in blanks in the Agile framework 
  • Resolve conflicts and issues that occur 
  • Help the scrum team achieve higher levels of scrum maturity 
  • Support the product owner and provide education where needed 

 

Desired Responsibilities: 

  • 2+ years’ experience as Project Manager of a fast-paced, multi-functional team
  • ScrumMaster certificate (Must have) 
  • Knowledge of modern Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc) 
  • Experience in technology focused company (SaaS is a big plus) 
  • Software engineering background a plus 
  • Knowledge of documentation techniques (handling bugs, burndown techniques, etc) 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or similar
