Project Engineer

POSITION: Project Engineer


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for assigned projects
  • Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget
  • Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables and design documentation
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements and related specifications
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, scheduling and testing
  • Conducts analysis on product designs to quantify product performance and reliability
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases
  • Interfaces with customer to provide project status reports and to ensure customer needs are met


LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible for all components of a small project or several complex components of a larger project
  • Contributes to the team / department by applying their knowledge to one or more functional areas
  • Fully developed professional able to work without direct guidance or direction from others
  • Has in depth knowledge of the discipline and role


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven ability to plan and schedule
  • Self-starter, able to work with little supervision
  • Strong, well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to represent company with a professional image

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·     B.S. degree with a concentration in Engineering or related field and 3-5 years related experience or

·     Equivalent experience as a project leader (minimum 8 years related experience)

 

WORKING CONDITION:

  • General office environment with several hours weekly in the manufacturing plant
