Production Specialist

Richfield, MN

The Specialist for Yellow Tag Productions/Communications & Public Affairs (COPA) is responsible for key financial duties in support of Yellow Tag Productions, Government Affairs, and Internal & External Communications in COPA.


The position will reside within Yellow Tag’s Operations team. Yellow Tag has the largest volume of financial processing work, supporting 800+ videos produced annually. In addition, the position will support identified COPA leaders in managing third-party contract vendor relations including critical responsibilities for project forms and legal agreements and serve as a main contact between internal teams and external vendor partners as needed, identifying and executing core needs.


The position requires an excellent working knowledge of financial payment processes and applications, including Oracle, Tradeshift, Excel and Propel in Ariba. They must be well-versed in business agreements, scope of work exhibits, third-party risk assessments, project forms, Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint.


This role is hybrid, which means you must be located within a drivable distance to our Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, MN. You might be asked to come into the office up to 3 days per week.


What you’ll do

  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Risk, creating and maintaining relationships with these and other stakeholders, providing clear and professional written and oral communication skills
  • Financial Processing for Yellow Tag, Government Affairs, and Communications including building and maintaining budget tracking on a daily/weekly basis through Excel or SharePoint
  • Learn and master new company tool, Propel in Ariba, updating COPA Leaders on policy or process changes as needed
  • Lead Monthly Financial Alignment for Yellow Tag, Government Affairs, and Communications, acting as key liaison between Finance and specific COPA Leaders to align on monthly spend, assisting with monthly and quarterly forecasting
  • Lead financial processes with spend activity and build on-going partnerships with COPA Leaders for financial oversight and reporting
  • Provide custom reports for identified COPA Leaders, organize, and interpret monthly Essbase data from Finance, advise leaders on the status of payments and expenses hitting their cost center
  • Execute and audit project forms for key vendor partners, collaborate and maintain a project form database in SharePoint to ensure team visibility to vendor partner contract spending caps
  • Act in partnership with producers to carefully manage project expectations and outcomes against identified deliverables
  • Partner with identified COPA Leaders to assist with contract completion and renewals
  • Facilitate third-party vendor engagements, initiate the contract process with Procurement, participate in contract discussions.


Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal & external audiences
  • 2+ years of proficient technical skills in Excel, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of demonstrated success in financial project management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting
  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Oracle, Tradeshift, and Ariba
  • Experience in working for a large consumer-oriented business
  • Experience in production of video or live event
  • Skill in working with cross-functional teams
  • Expertise with business agreements
