The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Product Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Developing new products for the Bonding & Joining platform within the Automotive and Aerospace Solutions Division (AASD) focusing on adhesive-based solutions to design challenges in the transportation industry
Working across business, manufacturing, and quality functions to create differentiated and impactful new and improved products
Generating IP to protect high value products and processes
Ensuring safe laboratory conditions, the use of life cycle management and EHS best practices
Willingness to be on-call as needed

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Two (2) years of product development or commercialization experience in the area of adhesives within a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Ph.D. degree in Materials Science or engineering discipline
Product development experience in Automotive/Commercial Vehicle/Aerospace market(s)
Professional network with Corporate and/or University laboratories
Technical publication and presentation experience

Location: Maplewood, MN

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
