Product Design Manager

Our Product and Service Design Team is growing and we are looking for a Product Design Manager to oversee our e-commerce design strategy and executions. Reporting to the Head of Product and Service Design, you are a committed design leader who advocates for our customers and translates their needs and desires into intuitive, engaging user experience. You lead with a growth mindset, and are iterative in your approach to deliver and optimize solutions that push business results to great new heights. You enjoy being a player-coach in a fast paced environment; you are equally adapted to solving complex problems on your own and developing your team to do the same

What you'll do:

Lead product design with sound UX principles and maintain a high bar of branding, design, usability, function, and accessibility on mejuri.com
Take a data-informed, full funnel approach–partner with Product, Data, UX Research, and other stakeholders to define experimentation, personalization, and conversion rate optimization (CRO) opportunities
Set the design vision for each initiative and guide your team through the full design and development process with proactive tracking of success post launch
Evolve our brand aesthetics on site and support new marketing themes to deliver our mission and product strategy with Creative and Marketing counterparts
Champion systems thinking and grow Mejuri’s web design system; take ownership of its governance model to support fast-changing business asks
Facilitate collaboration and cross-functional alignment; effectively present and manage design reviews including Executive level approvals
Hire, manage, and mentor a small, diverse team of product designers (both full time and part time) that consistently delivers high impact output for all web initiatives
Foster a healthy, inspiring culture of design excellence; be responsible for overall team performance with strategic prioritization and resource allocation

What you'll bring to the team:

Design leadership: As the key right-hand to Head of Design, you bring 6+ years of deep expertise in product design and a proven track record of successful cross-functional collaborations and communications
People development: Invest in the team, you bring 2+ years of experience managing product designers and are responsible for their professional development
Creativity and Innovation: Passionate and curious, you show others the value of creative thinking and excite them with a healthy appetite for experimentation
Accountability and Credibility: Team-first and goal-oriented, you’re dedicated to the success of the business and take people across the finish line with you

Things we consider an asset:

Experience working within a D2C or e-commerce company
Experience setting up and growing a design system
Experience with (and an eye for) digital art direction
