Principal Financial Analyst

The NGI Program is a newly awarded competitive win, with Raytheon and Northrop Grumman working in Partnership on the development effort for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Raytheon has been awarded +$1.3B for its workshare. NGI, which falls under the RMD Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) Mission Area, is designed to defend the U.S. against evolving complex threats and replace the currently deployed Ground Based Interceptor. There is no capability of its kind deployed in the world and is critical to the future of homeland defense.


As a Principal Financial Analyst, you will implement a variety of program and financial control activities, including supporting full contractual Earned Value reporting, development of quarterly Estimates-at-Complete (EACs), Monthly Management Reviews (MMRs), and financial metric reporting (BSEC, funding ETC). You willl serve as an Integrated Program Team’s (IPT’s) “CFO” performing analysis of metrics and data to help steer successful program execution while driving a tight program cadence.


The successful candidate for this role should possess strong technical knowledge of finance and program controls, strong problem solving skills and have good communication skills. You should be comfortable working independently and in a team environment, and have the ability to multi task and work on several different program issues concurrently, in a fast paced environment. You shall be comfortable working with and presenting to the program leadership team, lead engineers and other cross functional organizations. You should be dedicated to continued process improvements and the building of efficiencies into all operational aspects of the organization.


Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  1. Drive a strong program cadence, implementing available RTX tools to ensure timely and accurate internal and external reporting.
  2. Work with finance team to integrate IPT inputs into the program deliverables including SDRLs (IPMR, CFSR, 1921), EACs, financial forecast, etc.
  3. Report and provide financial status to the program team including program funding, cash collection, BSEC performance, ETC.
  4. Perform adhoc analysis for the program


An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Master’s is equal to 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. is equal to 4 years of experience.


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field of study
  • 6+ years of professional finance experience
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of Tools
  • Experience with EVMS (or similar process), Program Controls (Cost/Schedule), and/or EAC Process
