Principal Contract Administrator

With Northrop Grumman, you’ll have the opportunity to be an essential part of projects that will define your career, now and in the future. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Contract Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Clearfield, Utah. The Contract Administrator will produce high quality Contract Management related products for the F-5/T-38 Spares Program team. This position requires a strong background in U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) or Commercial contracting, excellent communication skills, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be a team player but also a strong independent contributor, will be proactive, will present leadership skills, will possess good analytical skills, will demonstrate problem solving skills, and will be detail-oriented. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Interfaces with customers and business partners, conducting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and contract administration
  • Examines proposal requirements and estimates, prepares bids, analyzes terms and conditions to evaluate risk, accuracy, and completeness to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications
  • Processes contractual documentation and reports, advises management of contractual rights and obligations, compiles and analyzes data, and maintains historical information
  • Facilitates proper shipment, billing, and payment collection for deliveries, interfacing with DCMA as required
  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports and maintains the contracts databases
  • Interacts daily with customer representatives
  • Duties may also include the preparation of proprietary information agreements, teaming agreements, export licenses/ agreements, and various types of memoranda
  • Balances competing priorities and deadlines
  • Works well with others in high-stress, high-volume situations
  • Interfaces with internal functional and program organizations, and deals with external customers, meeting the goals/objectives of the T-38 TRIM Spares and BDS teams


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Must have a High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of contract administration experience
  • Will also consider:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of contract administration experience
  • Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of contract administration experience
  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)
  • Must be able to work on-site in Clearfield, Utah


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree or higher in business, contracts, or finance
  • Demonstrated experience in leading people or project teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of both FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 15 Contracting with experience in administration of various contract types (e.g. Time and material, Cost type, Firm Fixed price, etc.)
  • Strong proposal development skills, solid negotiation skills, and the ability to maintain strong working rapport with internal
  • and external customers
  • Experience in U.S. Government Department of Defense contract administration / management
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to be flexible and change directions when needed
