Principal Brand Creative Director

Plantation, FL

Chewy is seeking a Principal Brand Creative Director to serve as our lead copy creative director on our most high-profile and high-impact work.


This creative director role will be responsible for strategy, creative concepting, and script development for all TV and video work across the company.


The Creative Director will not only write compelling campaigns but also serve as a key business partner to our most critical lines of business to help unpack valuable insights and stories that drive consumer behaviors.


This role is responsible for ensuring video and brand campaigns represent the Chewy brand, stand out from the competition, and drive the performance desired.


The Creative Director will also ensure the creative development process not only works efficiently but delivers great creative that partners are excited to see in the market, owning the process and facilitating improvements to achieve this success.


This creative director role will also lead strategic writing work such as positioning, value prop, and message development.


What You’ll Do:

  • Create unique, compelling, and Chewy ownable concepts and creative scripts for all video and brand campaigns including TV, OTT, YT, and OLV that drive Chewy’s biggest business priorities
  • Partner with Brand and Integrated marketing teams to drive creative strategy and deliver creative that meets business objectives
  • Present and defend ideas to leadership and executive team, manage leadership feedback, and respond with elevated creative output
  • Develop long-lasting brand platform thinking for the Chewy brand, which can be brought to life not just in TV or video scripts, but in other channels and touchpoints across today’s media landscape
  • Lead brand guidance on tone, copy and style across all creative projects for the company
  • Collaborate with the Brand creative directors to generate new concepts that uphold our creative standard
  • While an IC role, you will also serve as a mentor and leader to more junior writers across the brand team 


What You’ll Need:

  • A mix of experience working as a CD level writer at great agencies and with in-house creatives
  • Proven track record for delivering high performing TV/video assets and brand assets
  • Strong collaboration and partnership skills
  • Strategic conceptional writer with the ability to execute at depth
  • Brand strategy writing chops and deep understanding how to build messaging strategies
  • 10-15 years experience writing for great agencies and great brands
  • Demonstrated experience creating work that drives business results, awards are great but show me some numbers that created real business momentum
  • Travel to Studio in Florida and other productions- 10-20%
