Physical Implementation Engineer

San Diego, CA +1

Physical implementation of industry leading integrated graphics core, including clock, power delivery network design and analysis, physical synthesis, place and route, power analysis and optimizations, semi-custom and custom block integration.


Involves tasks in both implementation and development/automation of tasks for block implementation flow in addition to new methodology development and vendor tool evaluations and integration.


Work is in a dynamic team environment with aggressive schedule, chip power consumption and area targets.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.The ideal candidate will have/demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in Physical design / Circuit design.
  • Experience with physical synthesis and implementation tools - Synopsys Fusion Compiler, ICC2 and Cadence Genus/Innovus
  • Must have good knowledge of timing analysis and power analysis
  • Strong understanding of CMOS circuit design.
  • Excellent communication skills a must.


Preferred Skills:

  • Clock, power delivery network design, process technology, prior experience in flow and methodology development, block closure
  • Hands on experience with Synthesis, DFT
  • Prior experience in flow and methodology development
