Photography Technician

The Copywriter will assist in the conceptualization and writing of our print and digital collateral, including catalogs, emails, in-stored signage, e-commerce site features and print advertisement. The Copywriter will be collaborating with art directors and other writers to create dynamic, compelling, playful and exciting assets that expound upon and elevate the Bloomingdale’s brand voice. The Copywriter should be a big picture thinker who is able to strategize and execute large-scale marketing campaigns while simultaneously keeping a trained eye on the smallest details. The Copywriter is highly creative, curious, and loves words as much as they love design and fashion. 


As a Photography Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of our photography studio. You will work closely with the digital technician/equipment manager, producers and the studio team to ensure that all photoshoots run smoothly. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for photography.


Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with photographers, art directors and producers to set up and organize equipment, props, and backgrounds for photoshoots. 
  • Ensure that all necessary gear, lighting, and accessories are in working order and readily available. 
  • Assist with gear rentals and repairs as needed.
  • Handle and arrange products, props, and set elements as directed by the photographer.
  • Ensure that all items are clean, undamaged, and in the right position for each shot.
  • Assist with lighting setup and adjustments during photoshoots.
  • Help maintain consistent lighting conditions throughout the shoot.
  • Keep the studio and equipment storage areas clean, organized, and free from clutter.
  • Maintain an inventory of studio equipment, props and supplies and notify the studio team when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Assist in transferring, organizing, and cataloging digital image files.
  • Ensure the proper storage and backup of image data.
  • Collaborate with the stylist to ensure clothing and accessories are correctly fitted and styled.


Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal photography education is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a photography assistant or in a related role is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with photography equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and accessories.
  • Basic knowledge of photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow directions, work collaboratively, and adapt in a fast-paced studio environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, based on photoshoot schedules.
  • A passion for photography and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
