People Operations Manager (HR)

New York, NY

As the People Operations Manager, you will work with the Dagne leadership team to develop and manage four main areas: Recruiting, Total Reward and Benefits, Organizational Development and People Operations Programs. In reporting to the founders, this is a great opportunity for a go-getter HR star to develop and systemize our employee-manager feedback loop, DE+I initiatives, employee development programs and employee engagement initiatives.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Recruitment:
  • Implement and drive best-in-class, scalable DE+I recruiting strategies + initiatives
  • Lead best-in-class talent acquisition practices to promote inclusive hiring and behavioral competency-based assessment standards
  • Influence and drive targeted talent attraction methods (i.e., networking, job specific partnerships, social media, etc.)
  • Diagnose and put in place initiatives that will drive retention and engagement
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state hiring practices
  • Total Reward and Benefits:
  • Continuously examine and enhance Dagne’s compensation and benefits programs aimed at attracting and retaining talent
  • Provide strategic leadership to ensure Dagne’s benefit programs are cost effective, competitive, and compliant
  • Lead the compensation review program
  • Lead annual benefits renewal and open enrollment in partnership with TriNet
  • Oversee payroll practices and data integrity of TriNet
  • Partner closely with founders and VP of Finance to define compensation budget and annual performance targets
  • Stay informed of market trends, external compensation benchmarks and pay equity
  • Manage the administration of equity for Dagne shareholders
  • Manage the implementation and performance of benefits and wellness programs, policies, plans, and processes
  • Keep founders, VP of Finance, and employees informed of pay and benefit-related legislation and requirements
  • Lead the management of relationships with recruiters
  • Oversee employee leave documentation, reporting and policy
  • Organizational Development + Culture:
  • Promote and institutionalize a culture of inclusion, respect, empathy and fun, both through our HR practices and through team-building initiatives
  • Revise, communicate, launch, train and drive quarterly performance review process to ensure continuous development, growth, and feedback
  • In conjunction with leadership, develop and implement strategies to increase inclusion and diversity within Dagne Dover
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of the organization, supporting employees through difficult situations and influencing managers to enact changes that support the needs of our people
  • Partner with senior leadership to define operational efficiencies and procedures to achieve company and team objectives
  • Support the Founders in shaping and reinforcing a culture that aligns with Dagne’s core values and our commitment to the brand’s internal and external community
  • Define and strategize aspirational talent and org structure outcomes to develop a roadmap to achieve sustained and scalable growth that supports Dagne’s growth objectives
  • Develop and evolve talent mapping and role profiles to support talent development
  • Coach and develop managers through difficult situations and conversations
  • Continuously assess employee engagement, analyze engagement surveys, recommend action plans, and partner with employees at all levels to drive results
  • People Operations:
  • Institutionalize the Employee Handbook, and develop and communicate its policies and procedures while maintaining, revising, and updating it as needed
  • Remain current on employment law to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws 
  • Ensure processes remain efficient and compliant for both onboarding and offboarding talent
  • Facilitate and investigate employee-related complaints, make recommendations for resolution in partnership with leadership
  • As appropriate, guide and attend employee dispute meetings, performance improvement plan meetings and terminations in partnership with department lead
  • COVID 19: Continuously assess and adjust return-to-work initiatives, owning the strategy and execution of the playbook

 

YOU:


  • Have 5+ years of relevant HR experience
  • Have familiarity with US employment laws and best practices
  • Identify, resolve or refer complex issues in support of a positive work environment
  • Interpret policies and regulations to ensure fair and equitable resolution of issues
  • Use people metrics and analytics to identify trends as well as to track efficacy of Dagne HR strategies
  • Are intrinsically motivated to create a positive Dagne HR structure
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced and ever-changing startup environment
  • Are passionate about Dagne Dover, consumer goods and people
  • Have strong relationship aptitude, while being objective and HR role-focused
  • Are an experienced leadership influencer and partner

  • Are highly organized doer who is not intimidated to be an HR team of one

YOU - PREFERRED:


  • Have experience with Retail HR recruiting, problem solving and workplace dynamics
  • We work remotely but the candidate should be based in the tri-state area
