People Experience Specialist

Remote Lindon, UT

Our mission is simple: we want to set people free to do meaningful work. People love our software—and it turns out that people love working here too. We've been recognized as a "Best Company to Work For” and we're proud of our team for creating software that makes an impact in the lives of HR pros and employees all over the world.

What You'll Do

Crafting meaningful people experiences is at the heart of what we do every day at BambooHR - both for our customers and for our employees. We recognize that a fantastic employee experience starts well before a new employee arrives at the office on their first day. This makes the work of our newly-conceived Employee Onboarding Specialist crucial!

In this role, you’ll use your intentionality, creativity, and passion for People Experience to build, reimagine, and run an incredible employee onboarding program. Spanning from the moment a new Bambooligan signs their offer letter until they’ve fully transitioned into their new role and team, the onboarding program you design will start each Bambooligan’s journey on a high note and maximize their engagement with our culture.

Now, on to the specifics. As our Onboarding Program Specialist you will:

  • Partner with our HR Operations team to design and manage a new end-to-end employee onboarding experience that is innovative and memorable.
  • Architect a pre-onboarding experience that is both engaging and scalable through experiential details such as welcome gifts, proactive communications about first-day experience and company policies, etc.
  • Ensure a smooth Day One experience for new hires as their primary point of contact: welcoming them to the office, ensuring they have technical assistance with laptop setup, etc.
  • Curate new hire orientation content that is interactive, informative, and comprehensive (covering topics such as our product, mission, vision, values, culture, benefits, norms, policies, etc.)
  • Present and facilitate onboarding content during weekly new-hire onboarding sessions.
  • Identify and train additional onboarding session facilitators, ensuring that everyone involved in the onboarding program has the proper training, guidance, and facilitation skills to lead engaging onboarding sessions and experiences.
  • Align and communicate cross-functionally with new employees, their managers, and their teams to create an effective onboarding transition period for all.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for all onboarding processes by challenging the status quo and proactively identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Rigorously evaluate onboarding program effectiveness with metrics and KPIs that tie to company goals & objectives, and that show the impact of the onboarding programs you design. You’ll also refine and evolve orientation programs and content as needed.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Location: You are located in Utah, within commutable distance of our Lindon office, and are able to work onsite multiple times per week. (Much of our onboarding experience is onsite-friendly.)
  • Past Experience: You’ve worked for 5+ years in facilitation, experience design, and/or HR/people experience.
  • Presentation Skills: You’re an engaging presenter and have experience with facilitating a variety of courses and workshops. Not only that, but you can multiply your effectiveness as a facilitator by identifying and training additional facilitators for onboarding program sessions.
  • Experience Design Skills: Crafting powerful moments is your passion, and you have a knack for designing holistic employee experiences that are unique and memorable.
  • Communication: You’re an excellent communicator who can persuade, influence, negotiate, and build rapport across the business.
  • People Focus: In your work, you have an unwavering focus on improving the employee experience. You deeply understand employees’ needs and pain points and design solutions to solve them.
  • Cross-Functional Ability: You have a knack for bringing people together and working outside of siloes. You think about the downstream impacts of your work and can proactively work across the business to build the best programs possible.
  • Project Management Skills: You’re the definition of organized and are able to successfully balance complex cross-functional projects - meeting deadlines and keeping everyone involved on task.
  • Process Design Skills: When creating onboarding programs, you focus on designing end-to-end processes and experiences that will remain smooth and efficient at scale.

What Will Make Us REALLY Love You

  • Innovation: Rather than sticking with the status quo, you love to experiment and test novel approaches in your work.
  • Intentionality: You consider yourself a deeply thoughtful person and use this superpower in your work to create meaning and connection.
  • Assertive Leadership: You live our value of Lead from Where You Are in your work every day. You’re able to influence others and can help them understand the importance of their involvement in the onboarding programs you lead.
  • Problem Solving: You have an uncanny ability to identify problems, distill true root cause, and develop specific plans to impact those problems.
  • Iterative Approach: You never view your work as totally finished; you recognize the value of continuous improvement and frequently make small changes to onboarding programs based on data and feedback.
  • Change Agility: You thrive in fast-paced environments and can successfully navigate (and even champion) times of significant change.
  • Business Orientation: You have a strong focus on understanding business direction and goals. You center everything you do within the onboarding program around reflecting and meeting business needs.
  • Data Fluency: You understand the importance of metrics and KPIs and are fluent in gathering and presenting data to reflect both business gaps and program impact.
