People & Culture Director

Remote

We are looking for an experienced People & Culture Director to help our growing business find and retain amazing talent. You will lead a key strategic pillar within our agency to nurture our talent, build a strong employment brand and manage the day to day HR function.


The nature of We Are Social’s business requires a high level of flexibility, common sense and versatility. While the specific content of your role is clearly defined, the nature of our fast-growing business means the role will evolve over time and needs a ‘can do’ approach to picking projects up and making them happen.


You will enjoy working in creative organizations, take an active interest in the social and digital media industry and be able to develop strategies and tactics that deliver against our short and long term objectives.

Specific Content of the Role

Overall:

  • Successfully develop, implement and communicate a valued people & culture agenda aligned to the global HR strategy and local business plan
  • Develop and institute new policies related to health & wellness, DE&I, onboarding, learning & development, and flexible working
  • Partner with the Head of Operations and Senior Team to provide strategic analysis and recommendations for each department’s people objectives
  • Lead high level resource planning including working with the Senior Team to ensure career plans are in place for each employee
  • Empower and train Line Managers to take accountability for managing performance and people
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are in line with local labor laws
  • Flawless administration, processes and reporting systems to ensure business efficiency
  • Support Senior Team with some of the other Culture initiatives such as events and conferences


Talent and performance management:

  • Develop and lead the continuous performance management program
  • Work with Senior Management review and lead training initiatives across the business to support development in line with Global Framework
  • Develop talent management maps utilizing Global framework with Senior Team to create succession plans for rising stars and high performers
  • Proactively review and adapt job descriptions and competency & objective frameworks across all levels to reflect changes to roles in a rapidly growing business
  • Be responsible for setting standards across the agency and work with Senior Team to ensure these are understood and upheld
  • Manage our recruiter / recruitment agency to fill open roles, and help with contracting and onboarding new joiners


Employee Relations

  • Continuously review policies and procedures
  • Resolves complex issues i.e. disciplinaries and grievances
  • Be the first point of call for any employee issue, raising any business critical issues with the Head of Operations for swift and clear resolution


Commercial Capability

  • Understands the commercial side of the business to ensure our resourcing initiatives and headcount planning is in line with revenue forecasts
  • Ability to deliver projects to budgets and demonstrate ability to negotiate which might be required from time to time


Team Leadership

  • Is clearly perceived as a leader by Senior Management and by the wider agency
  • Is a key contributor and participator in agency and individual team culture
  • Has an appetite for and applies themselves to continued learning
  • Works collaboratively with other We Are Social markets


Key Skills

The ideal candidate for this role should be confident in all the areas laid out below:

  • Min 8 years experience in a creative business, agency or client organization
  • Highly skilled in relationship management and negotiation
  • Strong strategic and creative thinking
