Packaging Area Lead

Motif Labs is a licensed cannabis extraction facility located in SW Ontario. Position Overview

Ensure all lines are achieving targets, optimizing production efficiencies, and decreasing changeover times.
Operate Pre-Roll equipment proficiently, ensuring smooth functioning and optimal performance.
Conduct training sessions for team members on the operation and maintenance of Pre-Roll or other relevant equipment.
Perform basic troubleshooting of machinery to identify and resolve issues promptly, minimizing downtime and disruptions to production.
Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions for increased productivity.
Understanding of EPR systems and the timely and accurate recording of production consumption.
Collaborate with relevant departments to verify the accuracy of components and returns in both consumption and inventory.
Follow the production schedule closely and allocate manpower as needed.
Proactively managing employees, process or equipment issues, including minor conflict and escalating up as required.
Ensure the electronic work orders are prepared for the applicable production line prior to changeovers and completed work orders are accurate and promptly uploaded.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address challenges and facilitate smooth operations.
Escalate issues and actively participate in finding and implementing solutions to streamline processes.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1-3 years experience in production or manufacturing environments in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facilities is preferred
Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, including effectively leading, motivating teams to achieve production targets, and coaching team members to enhance performance and skills.
Experience in problem solving and following detailed procedures
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging team environment
Ability to work according to tight schedules and timelines
Ability to work independently
Attention to detail, and ability to use common sense
Excellent communication skills
Ability to multi-task and be willing to learn and adapt to change
Must remain in compliance with provincial and federal regulations, and internal Motif policies
Physically fit; standing and/or sitting will be required for long periods of time and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Required to pass a criminal background check
Must be able to work various shift schedules as required

SCHEDULE

“Half Continental” rotating shift schedule (DAY shift): 4 days off and on one week, 3 days off and on the following week
Sunday through to Saturday (7-day operation). Hours are 7:30am – 8:00pm (12.5 hours)
Breaks:1.5 hour break to be broken up based on team needs and discussed with Supervisor/Manager
