At Kiva Manufacturing Inc., a Packager is responsible for the production and packaging of a variety of edible products. The Packager position supports all areas of manufacturing by ensuring a clean and safe work environment, inspecting all products for quality, helping with de-molding, packing, and the assembly of items for sale.

As a Kiva Packager, you will...

  • Construct cartons by applying labels and date stamps (consistent with the product & batch information) 
  • Complete tasks efficiently to meet or exceed daily quotas for packaging 
  • Inspect packaging and products to guarantee they are free of flaws and assembled correctly 
  • Understand the needs of the company and work with team members to achieve goals 
  • Clean and sanitize work area, practice good food safety handling techniques at all times 
  • Pack, weigh, and label completed items for shipment or storage.
  • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products in order to ensure that packing specifications are met.
  • Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records

What we're looking for...

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Previous assembly work experience is highly desired
  • Experience in manufacturing or related field is preferred
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English is required
  • Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members
  • Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
  • Maintain the production pace of other team members 

Work Environment

  • This position is in a busy warehouse subject to frequent interruptions and loud noises
  • There are three (3) work shifts available, Morning, Afternoon and Overnight
  • Some extended and weekend hours may be required
  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in cold fluctuating temperature conditions
  • All team members MUST provide and wear their own safety compliant (slip-resistant, toe-protection, fall protection) shoes to each shift
  • COVID Testing is required before starting employment.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a stationary position for 75% of the time
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks for an extended period of time
  • Must have excellent manual dexterity and personal hygiene
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to speak or hear; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance
