Organizational Effectiveness Consultant

Leads all business evaluations to understand operations and establish processes and staffing effectiveness frameworks. Evaluates current structures, spans and layers across the company to ensure the highest productivity and efficiency. Works with leaders to develop standardized job duties and org structures for all levels of roles, including individual contributors and people leaders, and implement the changes. Stays abreast of critical evidence-based research that supports high impact organizations and with a focus on high return for the company through its people. In partnership with the the Director, Learning & Communications, executes models and frameworks to drive highest level of customer service while driving revenue and associate engagement.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Process Development and Delivery:

  • Leads analysis and coordination of teams throughout the organization in all practices and through functional knowledge, analyzes all customer requirements for success.
  • Leverages evidence-based research and best practice models to determine the most effective way to meet customer and business needs through sound organization structures to enhance staffing effectiveness.
  • Assess current spans and layers across various department in the company to determine the best organizational models to ensure staffing effectiveness and the highest level of job performance and productivity.
  • Prepare best practice org structures and work with leaders to approve and implement.
  • Work with leaders and the Human Resources Business Partners to update job descriptions as appropriate to align with productive job-related activities.
  • Lead constructive and productive discussions with leaders at all levels, along with Human Resource Business Partners, about current staff responsibilities and any necessary changes or performance improvement that may impact improved staff effectiveness.
  • Create standards and expectations for supervisors, managers and leaders to support clear expectations as it relates to team effectiveness, span of control and ability to scale for growth.
  • Create metrics and dashboard to track effectiveness of changes with leading indicators that may impact productivity, effectiveness, and engagement.

 

Consulting and Partnering:

  • Acts as PODS lead for all organizational structure models and staffing effectiveness to drive optimal performance and revenue.
  • Lead job and team analysis to understand optimal work environments through spans and layers as well as skill distribution and structure.
  • Designs and implements process controls the company around staffing models, including effectiveness and necessity of current and new roles.

 

External Networks and Metrics:

  • Lead evidence-based research that measures demonstrated outcomes for talent effectiveness directly tied to PODS Strategic Plan and culture.
  • Accountable for metrics and leading indicators that ensure teams are structured for high value work with an engaged workforce.
  • Research best practices and trends, staying on top of trends and developments within the area of high-performing organizations.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports on key organizational effectiveness metrics


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in HR, Organizational Design and Development, Industrial Psychology or other equivalent degree required.
  • PhD in Industrial Psychology or Organizational Effectiveness strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years post graduate experience in a staffing effectiveness, org design, spans and layers models and role expectations.
  • Experience with conducting evidence-based research or leverage case studies and best practices that demonstrated company effectiveness and growth.
  • Proven experience with outcomes measurement to advance efficacy and sustainability of organizational structures and staff effectiveness, sustaining a broad range of OE management objectives.

  • Proven experience in psychological principles and research methods to improve overall work environment, including performance, communication, professional engagement and safety.
  • Proven management experience.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong org design capabilities with proven models and frameworks to support success.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate and recommend effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with highly professional, executive presence.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to secure and use data to drive effective decision making.
  • Experience all levels of leadership.

 

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Reports to the Director, Learning & Communication.
  • This position will grow a team and have full supervisory responsibilities for Organizational Development Consultants to lead and grow talent planning, succession, development planning and assessment needs of the organization at all levels.
