This position reports to the Supervisor, Production at the Cincinnati Plant.


This position is located in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA and is not available for remote work.


What you will do:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  •  Responsible for directing tanker trucks for loading and for operating necessary equipment to assure proper outages on trucks with various products. Responsible for ensuring that trucks are properly prepared for the product being loaded as well as the customer receiving the product. Must be able to provide forms and paperwork necessary to accompany truck shipments.
  • Responsible for the operation and performance of all plant machinery. Must start, operate, and shut down equipment in a manner to maximize production without unnecessary wear or harm to equipment.
  • Responsible for the unloading of phosphoric acid railcars and bulk trucks as necessary to provide quality raw materials for production.
  • Responsible for working with the KP Operator to transfer phosphoric acid for potassium phosphate production.
  • Responsible for working with the other operators to switch rail cars as needed to enable unloading of raw materials. This includes operation of Trackmobile or serving as switchman during this two-person operation.
  • Communicate with MP/B Operator from other crews at shift change when reporting for work to pass along pertinent operating information
  • Communicate with lab and maintenance personnel as required to coordinate plant activities
  • Responsible for ensuring that quality standards for the product are met or exceeded.
  • Responsible for following all facility quality procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining housekeeping and Good Manufacturing Practices in work area
  • Responsible for controlling raw material and product flow
  • Responsible for loading phosphoric acid blended products into tanker trucks.
  • Responsible for operating and monitoring boilers, air compressors, and plant steam pressure
  • Responsible for operating and monitoring air compressors
  • Responsible for water softening and reverse osmosis systems and NPDES waste water treatment
  • Responsible for the safe handling of incoming water from the municipal water system or other system due to the absence of incoming municipal water
  • Responsible for the safe operation of all water treatment and wastewater treatment equipment and processes.
  • Responsible for the safe handling and packaging of bags, supersacks, drums, and totes
  • Responsible for packaging of acid products; including but not limited to: drums, totes, fibre drums.
  • Responsible for collection of product samples.
  • Responsible for monitoring of product and raw material inventories.
  • Monitors mechanical equipment by making visual and aural inspection of equipment and by monitoring temperature, flow, and amperage gauges, as well as other process gauges added for the optimization of equipment operation.
  • Records production information onto both paper and electronic forms
  • Communicates machinery status to Operations & Engineering Superintendent or their designee
  • Secures equipment for maintenance by appropriate safety and plant procedures.
  • Responsible for safe operation of bagging and palletizing equipment.
  • Safe operation of all mobile equipment
  • Responsible for following all OSHA, plant and corporate safety rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for reporting any safety or environmental problems or concerns promptly to the Operations & Engineering Superintendent or other appropriate management personnel.
  • Responsible for inspecting and properly using personal protective equipment and safety equipment as required by procedure and plant/corporate policies
  • Responsible for monitoring plant conditions and taking corrective action should irregular conditions or product spills occur
  • Responsible for incidental hazardous material spills within the area.
  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with plant policies and procedures


What you will bring:

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent


Preferred Education and Experience

  • 3 years industrial work experience in a related field


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan consistent with the terms of our plan reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee. Details will be discussed through the application process.
