Summary/Objective

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in tasks such as training, coaching, mentoring, and developing new and existing employees, assisting with the day to day operation, performing daily reports and adhering to the company policies and procedures. Direct the flow of materials for optimal productivity while maintaining levels of quality, accuracy of inventory and safety of employees.  


Essential Functions

  • Lead, manage and motivate your team of up to 50 associates
  • Allocate staff to certain areas and check that staffing levels are in line with volume order
  • Plan the shift/labor to optimize through output and efficiency
  • Work with other departments to ensure that all facility KPI Metrics are met
  • Work with the Leadership & Development Team and Health & Safety to ensure that all members of the team have been suitably trained for each task that they to ensure safe operations in line with THG’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • You will be required to communicate instructions from leadership to your team clearly and ensure that these are followed
  • Deliver Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) through effective use of resources and management of staff. 
  • Provide guidance and feedback to help drive continuous improvement with the team
  • Monitor and report on key metrics and performance indicators to enable the accurate and timely monitoring of objectives. Run and update daily reports and explain any abnormalities
  • Be active in identifying problems and propose solutions to address
  • Identify key members of the team for development, match people and opportunities to promote succession planning
  • Manage absence and attrition through effective use of policies and procedures to ensure that labor targets are delivered
  • Work with the people team to manage any employee relations issues including disciplinaries and absence reviews
  • Plan and lead continuous improvement projects designed to improve efficiencies and identify opportunities for improvement using relevant data to analyze trends and identify relevant business implications from this information
  • Where the business implements changes, communicate the purpose of changes and encourage others to contribute positively to and participate in the change process
  • Adjust shift to fit needs of team and business
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse setting. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment. Employee will frequent a warehouse environment on a regular basis and will be exposed to a variety of sounds and equipment while in this environment.
