Location-Shelby Drive. Shift-Tuesday-Friday, 6:00am – 4:30pm
As an Operations Specialist, you'll be responsible for base line material handling functions with additional emphasis on increased technical skills, project leadership, intra- and inter-departmental coordination, and data analysis up to and including responsibility for daily results of a work area. Maintain all Material Handler accountabilities. Process customer orders and returns. Lead groups of people (rotationally). Maintain product inventory. Use material handling equipment. Maintain a safe, clean work environment. Communicate throughout the distribution center to ensure inventory integrity, customer order fulfillment, and a smooth flow of product. Thoroughly utilize systems (XpDS, IBM, MOVERS, access, etc) and equipment to ensure inventory integrity, customer order fulfillment, and a smooth flow of product. Initiate and lead projects and teams to continuously improve the operation and Key Result Areas. Gather and analyze information, prepare reports, assist Area Managers with staff schedules, and make recommendations using continuous improvement philosophy. Facilitate the training of others on DC systems, processes, and equipment. Be a role model and resource to DC Associates.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- 1 year experience in a warehouse/distribution or manufacturing environment is required
- Broad technical and process knowledge of a Distribution Center including material handling equipment, computer warehouse management systems such as XpDS, IBM, Access and MOVERS, and additional physical DC processes
- Project leadership coordination, data analysis, staffing, training, security
- Emphasis on growing leadership skills through rotational leading, reviewing performance, and evaluating the development of the team
- Cross-departmental communication skills
- Understanding the critical measurements of the operation and how to effectively impact the results including accuracy, service, and efficiencies
- Able to work overtime as required
- Able to read and count accurately and follow verbal and written directions
- Able to repetitive motions and lift 50lbs continuously
- Perform other general duties as assigned
