Operations Manager

Honolulu, HI

SMX is seeking an Operations Manager to work as part of an integrated program management office (PMO) on the USSOCPAC C5ISR contract within the C5ISR business unit. The Operations Manager supports day-to-day operations projects on the USSOCPAC C5ISR contract. The position provides monitoring of budgets, property management (as applicable), and quality control, and serves as a liaison with the government points of contact as directed by the Program Manager. This position requires on-site work and is split between SMX, Kapolei, HI, and OCONUS and CONUS government sites, with periodic travel to customer-designated work sites. The Operations Manager typically works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently, and from time to time, may oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operations Coordination and Contract Performance Management: Interacts with United States Army Pacific (USARPAC), United States Special Operations Command Pacific (USSOCPAC), subcontractors, and local authorities as needed to coordinate all SMX Hawaii operations and facility management activities
  • Facilities management: Responsible for management oversight of all project facilities to include TSCIFs
  • Technical services: provides technical advice, supports the operations and maintenance of the facility, including on-the-job training and cross-training of SMX personnel to include interns and Skill Bridge employees Analyzes facility safety and cleanliness and coordinates inspections and assists government visits and tours
  • Site Financial Management: Conducts close coordination with the Program Manager and SMX financial managers to maintain financial control of all on-site expenses Sets up and maintains accounts for janitorial and lawn maintenance periodic services (Irrigation, routine maintenance as needed)
  • Provides all daily, weekly, monthly, periodic, and incident reports to the SMX Program Manager and USSOCPAC Program Manager as required by the Statement of Work, SMX Leadership and Main Contract Coordinates all reporting with the Smartronix Program Manager Provides financial, contractual, personnel and administrative reports as needed
  • Independently executes and monitors project activities
  • Prepares and updates project plans and status reports
  • Coordinates cross-functional meetings of personnel related to project
  • Establishes and maintains communications with customers and subcontractors
  • Verifies equipment requirements
  • Create, submit, and track equipment procurement documentation
  • Prepare status reports
  • Conduct site surveys, verify and inspect equipment, and coordinate CONUS/OCONUS personnel and teams as required
  • Identify and coordinate with subcontractors necessary for equipment assembly, installation and checkout
  • Reports status develops project-related documentation, and implements lessons learned
  • Participates in project performance review meetings and discussions
  • Updates and maintains production and quality metrics for assigned projects
  • Ensures that performance requirements are met and compliance
  • Works with team to problem-solve and facilitates issues and situations
  • Mentors less-senior personnel
  • Evaluates performance of less-senior personnel
  • Conducts training


Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI
  • Minimum of 10 years of operational management experience, with ISR operational experience preferred
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities and possess excellent time management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete required tasks and reports in a timely manner
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service
  • Ability to work varied schedules to support operations
  • Microsoft Office software proficiency
  • Good at motivating and delegating to junior and peer personnel as appropriate
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI security clearance is required
  • English language required
  • A valid Passport is required
  • High School diploma or GED required
