Operations Lead

The 7x24 Operations Lead will be responsible for all aspects of the iSeries environment including maintenance, migrations, and upgrades. In addition to maintaining the overall health, data integrity and operational efficiency of the iSeries platform, this position is also responsible for leading and mentoring a team of operators. The 7x24 Operational Lead should have a history of extensive IT experience and sound judgment to rely on for planning and accomplishig their goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

• Monitoring system health in LPAR
• Spool file management 
• Ensure the integrity and availability of the iSeries environment 
• Tape Management
• AS400 user management including password resets, profile creation, modification & deletion 
• Monitoring daily, weekly, monthly & yearly backups as per business requirement using BRMS
• Regular reporting on system health and maintenance needs
• Monitoring and controlling all the subsystems, batch jobs, interactive jobs, output queues, and job queues
• Working knowledge on Control M
• Monitoring QSYSOPR message queue
• Experience with iSeries Job Schedulers - Robot, Tivoli, and the Native Job Scheduler (WRKJOBSCDE)
• Migrations and upgrades from one release to another
• Performing daily health checks of production environment
• Vendor management of IBM related partners
• Knowledge of Problem and Change Management processes 
• Familiarity with PCI and SOX Compliance
