CBS MORNINGS is seeking a smart, creative, and enterprising PRODUCER to join the team! The ideal candidate will have a firm command of journalistic standards, a keen attention to detail, and excellent newsgathering and storytelling skills. They must also be calm and efficient during breaking news and a collaborative member of a newsroom.


This producer will be responsible for covering a variety of day of air news reports, including breaking news, investigations, politics, high-profile interviews, medical, consumer, and cultural reports. This person must have strong news writing skills and a keen eye in the edit room. They will be called upon to travel for breaking news and should have strong field producing experience.


Candidates will need to share examples of pieces that show both writing and producing experience.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of television news work experience
  • Ability to deal with deadline pressure and react with thoughtful programming ideas and creative storytelling
  • Strong editorial judgement
  • Clear and concise script writing
  • Mastery of story structure, visual graphics and elements
  • Experience with breaking news
  • Experience with live remotes and multi-camera interviews
  • Experience working with editors in assembling packages
  • Exceptional research skills, tracking down data and visual material
  • Ability to travel and work an adaptable schedule when needed to cover other shifts and breaking news.
  • Flexible with schedule changes
