Network Engineer

Miramar, FL

Responsibilities

This role is an IP Network Engineer experienced in analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting IP network infrastructure and application components. You will be performing a wide variety of tasks in a highly regulated and mission critical environment.

  • Network routing configurations, designs, and deployments and operational support.
  • Install, configure, and support routers, switches, Firewalls, load-balancers, and wireless access points.
  • Maximize network performance through real-time system monitoring and optimization.
  • Investigate issues in the network, recommend and implement appropriate resolution.
  • Report network status to key stakeholders and arranging scheduled network upgrades.
  • Maintain Firewall security configuration and evaluate alerts.
  • Able to support a 24/7/365 fast paced and rapidly evolving environment.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs, or technical developments). 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Computer software, computer systems engineering is desired).
  • 5-7 years of experience.
  • A CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification is desirable.
  • Advanced to expert level of competence is required in most of the areas listed below:
  • Network routing protocols – BGP, EIGRP, OSPF.
  • IPsec Tunnels, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, ACL, VLSM, CIDR.
  • DNS, DHCP, IPAM.
  • Centralize Authentication servers (RSA SecurID, Cisco ISE).
  • Load-Balancers and WAF (F5).
  • Cisco FMC/FTD sensors.
  • Meraki Wireless network.
  • Network Monitoring (Solarwinds, Cisco Prime Infrastructure).
  • Azure Cloud network.
  • Develop and maintain written documentation and diagrams.
  • All Networking topologies (Ethernet, Sonet, SRP, POS, etc.)
  • Switching and configuration options (VLANS, HSRP, NSSA, DHCP, PBR, VPN's, NAT, etc.)
  • Internet applications and their protocols (TCP, UDP, Peer to peer type apps, mail, news, web surfing, SNMP, etc.)
  • Multicast (PIM, IGMPv2 and v3 Auto-RP).
  • Advanced Experience with NMS solutions to support the Network and host devices.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a large business environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to travel with valid passport.
  • Previous Airline experience would be a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment on large or complex projects required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player, ability to work well with all levels.
  • Driven, able to meet deadline requirements and project deliverables.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Domestic & International travel approximately 50% of time.
  • Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occassionally, and/or up to 20lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • On-Site at Spirit IT Headquarter in Fort Lauderdale/Miramar, Florida; MUST be local or willing to relocate and work on-site 100% of the time.
