Motion Graphics Intern

Sherman Oaks, CA

The Refinery is an award-winning entertainment advertising agency located in Sherman Oaks. We work with all of the major studios producing creative digital, A/V and print campaigns for theatrical properties and television/streaming content.

Enough about us, here’s what we’re looking for:

Motion Graphics Intern for a 3-month full-time paid internship opportunity. You will be paired with a mentor to learn the tricks of the trade while expanding your AfterEffects and Cinema 4D knowledge. A background in filmmaking or animation is bonus – we want you to bring your own ideas to life. The ideal candidate will be able to dedicate full time hours to this role, with the goal of joining the team full time at the end of the internship.


Responsibilities

  • You will complete assignments alongside your mentor to learn Motion Graphic tools, techniques, and industry best practices and expand skills in After Effects, Cinema 4D Premiere, Photoshop, and more
  • Animate text, images, and video, following the direction of the client and team
  • Revise and render complex After Effects projects
  • Crop and resize short videos in After Effects
  • Follow team standards for project specs, asset building, format conversion and deliverables
  • Organize files using established naming conventions and file structure
  • Check renders for errors before delivery (especially spelling, centering, and glitches)
  • Familiarize yourself with current motion projects, formats, deadlines, and workflows


Requirements

  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects
  • Beginning level proficiency with Cinema 4D
  • Understanding of design, typography and animation
  • Demonstrate an openness to learning and accepting feedback from clients and team members
  • Up to date knowledge on latest design and animation trends.


Salary Range

$18.00 per hour
