Merchandising Manager

We are actively looking for our future North America e-Commerce Merchandiser, where you will turn our accumulated professional consumer market insights into action to drive our Professional Beauty Hair and Nail businesses via our B2B platform across the United States and Canada. This position is a fast-paced, customer/digital focused delivery role. Being in-touch with professional shopper behaviors, working across regional and global business teams, and passion for the salon industry are key to success.

 

The North America e-Commerce Merchandiser is responsible to drive interest and revenue through the execution of merchandising strategies onsite and via email for the Professional Beauty business in North America, including the following Brands: Wella Professionals, OPI, Sebastian Professional, Nioxin, ghd, System Professional, Clairol Professional, Wella Color Charm and Kadus Professional. 

 

The North America e-Commerce Merchandiser will work in partnership with the North America Digital Team, and will play an important role in using data to inform business optimizations that drive growth through our site merchandising efforts. This individual will work as part of a multi-functional team organized around the key channel needs of e-commerce, which includes Digital, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Professional Education in both North America and Geneva, Switzerland. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support ProfessionalStore.com’s website merchandising strategy to ensure accurate and optimal product exposure across categories, imagery, copy, pricing, and promotional details.
  • Manage and support Master Data Workflows, including Customer Set-Up and Order Management
  • Deliver fit-for-use promotion and assortment requirements for online customers.
  • Inform and maintain stock levels in collaboration with supply and demand teams.
  • Proactively review marketing/merchandising calendar to identify opportunities to optimize revenue and customer engagement through product, collections, themes, marketing, and presentation.
  • Utilize the product catalog and performance metrics to build and sort category and product groupings as guided by marketing and merchandising initiatives.
  • Increase conversion and average order size through online merchandise management of best sellers, product promotions, up-sell, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Support seasonal initiatives through featured collections of product bundles and landing page treatments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate implementation of website content and promotions across US and Canada.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are necessary.
  • Conduct analyses and utilize data to understand performance of creative treatments and guide ongoing improvements to merchandise presentation and performance.
  • Review competitor websites to ensure industry alignment with categorization, promotions, and trends.


QUALIFICATIONS

Application Pre-Requisites:

  • 4 year degree; advanced degree a plus
  • 4+ years prior e-commerce experience with proven results to successfully grow businesses on-line.
  • Affinity with Beauty. Prior beauty category experience is a plus, but not a pre-requisite.


Special skills required:

  • Open and accessible management style, with the ability to consistently achieve positive results and collaborate across the team
  • Strong background in customer acquisition, re-engagement and retention strategies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the CRM landscape and KPI`s, digital marketing, e-retail- and brand strategies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems successfully
  • Expertise in SAP Hybris Marketing Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, Analytics), and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen to understand, and to translate the company/brand strategy to e-retailers and enroll them in support of strategies
  • Ability to effectively resolve competing priorities for Brands, team and other functions
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast paced, complex matrix and changing environment
  • Flexibility to travel as required
  • Natural affinity for Beauty Industry
