Marketing Operations Specialist

The Marketing Operations Specialist will be a key contributor to the Strategic Planning & Investments team, responsible for helping execute the end-to-end process for continuous strategy, financial planning and budget and internal scope management for the Marketing & PR team.

This position reports to the Manager of Strategic Planning & Investments and works collaboratively with a cross-functional team of program owners to focus resources and energy to enable continuous forward-thinking and progression toward our marketing goals. This role will support the following businesses: Mortgage, Invest, Auto and Insurance. 

This position works from an Ally office in either Charlotte NC or Detroit MI

The Work Itself

  • Assist Manager with execution of year-round and annual planning coordination and development of outputs (3 forecasts/year as well as short-term forecasts, internal agency scopes, strategy planning documents)
  • Assist in facilitating planning sessions, capturing takeaways and other administrative planning tasks
  • Monitor PO spend across vendors to ensure sufficient funds available and facilitate PO increases with vendors & internal partners (i.e., Marketing FP&A, Sourcing, Purchasing) as necessary
  • Collaborate with vendors to align on billing, and validate and approve invoices
  • Assist in month-end financial process, including review of expense booklets provided by Marketing FP&A, and gathering and submission of accruals, reclasses and proper supporting documentation
  • Help maintain accurate budget calibration file and other documents related to internal agency scopes and strategic planning
  • Prepare documentation for and assist Manager in driving monthly expense review meetings with Program Owners
  • Assist Manager in leading the Community Involvement pillar for the M/PR department Culture Club, helping facilitate discussion and action around community outreach efforts, including our annual Giving Back Auction

The Skills You Bring

  • 1+ years of Marketing or Finance/ Accounting experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed and organized individual
  • Ability to effectively work with a variety of teammates and partners internally and external
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be proactive and a self-starter, anticipating issues before they arise
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required

Base Pay Range: An individual's position in the range is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. 

Emerging 55.000 - Experienced 67.500 - Expert 80.000

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
