Marketing Lead

The Marketing Lead, Airbnb.org reports to the Airbnb.org Community Manager. They will be responsible for creating and executing Airbnb.org's end-to-end marketing strategy, from top of funnel awareness, through acquisition, activation and engagement, to build and deepen the commitment of a community of Airbnb.org supporters cultivated from Airbnb Hosts and guests and the public.


The ideal candidate brings a depth of experience in nonprofit, social impact, community and/or cause related marketing, with a proven track record of embedding diversity, equity and inclusion into their approach, objectives and outcomes. They are confident in owning a strategy from idea to execution and will balance strong creative and analytical skills, take full ownership of their strategy, and be a thoughtful communicator. Success in this role is defined by finding ways to articulate the value of being part of the global Airbnb.org community that inspires new members to join and deepens the commitment of our existing community.

This position is employed by Airbnb Inc., however the role will provide direct support to Airbnb.org, an independent 501c3 nonprofit that focuses on emergency response and provides temporary housing for people in times of crisis. Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute Airbnb.org’s marketing roadmap and strategy across channels including product, email, push notification, social and paid marketing to build awareness, recruit hosts and fundraise for Airbnb.org
  • Lead creative marketing strategies, executions, and campaign development-- with the knowledge and ability to adapt strategies internationally
  • Partner with Design Manager to establish and embed brand vision, guidelines and value propositions across marketing tactics
  • Act as primary liaison with Airbnb Inc. marketing, PR and Comms teams to partner on cross-functional projects and major campaigns; champion and steward integrated marketing processes with the team and cross-functional partners from concept, launch, optimization and performance evaluation
  • Manage project budgets across external agencies, creatives, and internal teams
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, and turn campaign data into insights to inform future strategies
  • Analyze trends from external campaigns and Airbnb.org community insights to identify new opportunities to amplify and build the Airbnb.org brand and community -- including new tactics, channels and partnerships
  • Partner with Design manager to manage production process (via creative agencies, consultants or freelancers) for asset production needs for yearly campaigns and ongoing content needs
  • Build a diverse and an inclusive environment across the team


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in community marketing, with direct experience in the social impact, diversity and inclusion, nonprofit, CSR and/or government sectors
  • Experience incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion into marketing campaigns and storytelling 
  • Experience building and executing paid and organic social media strategies and brand channels from the ground up
  • Experience managing production and asset creation process 
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills; ability to incorporate market research and customer data into marketing strategies
  • Ability to act with confidence and decisiveness and to lead and have influence over people and groups of widely varying disciplines and backgrounds, including technical teams
  • Models inclusive behavior
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
