Marketing Launch Manager

Grand Rapids, MI

We are hiring a Marketing Launch Manager to successfully launch new and enhanced products, applications and programs across Steelcase Inc. globally to help monetize these solutions through faster sales ramp up and achievement of project sales goals. This role develops, project manages and implements/ensures implementation of the plan for assigned products, applications and programs. You will build and improve the foundations for launch processes, improve revenue/business/cost by bringing creativity and rigor to the launch process, evaluate and integrate best practices, and globalize launch platforms. This role develops and monitors metrics and takes appropriate action to ensure project metrics are met. You will be responsible to build launch knowledge bases with learnings to assist in developing future successful launch plans.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead development and implementation of the global and/or regional launch plans for assigned areas to meet project revenue goals. Plans include key strategies, tactics, timelines, budgets and the communication and training plans to ensure a successful, creative launch. Secure management approvals as appropriate.
  • Act as internal consultant for marketing and channel management teams applying launch expertise for products and programs
  • Identify interdependencies between products, applications and knowledge elements across Inc. in building launch plans, working across many functions and levels of management.
  • Use global networks to identify local and regional differences and transfer and apply learnings to global launch platforms. 
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills to create an exceptional team experience throughout the launch process to create alignment while meeting deadlines, budget and quality requirements. 
  • Manage launch plan deliverables with empathy, lead and influence teams with varying levels of experience and skill to achieve desired launch goals. 
  • Design, implement and iterate the launch process through the use of best practices and internal and external contributions.
  • Develop & manage launch project budgets in partnership with category/brand leadership. 
  • Lead assigned process areas such as Launch Campaign broadcasts, audience groups, showrooms, mock-ups, etc.
  • Use unique solutions and approaches to achieve goals and maximize profit potential.
  • Develop and monitor metrics, taking appropriate action to ensure project goals are met and learnings are captured to improve future launches.
  • Participate in design and management of knowledge bases to improve current and future launches. Leverage those resources to identify funding models, launch processes and performance metrics. 
  • Participate in governance and approval process.


Who You Are: 

  • Thorough understanding of marketing, product development, and sales processes
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to collaborate, persuade, gain alignment, negotiate and influence global teams 
  • Ability to leverage past skills & experiences in sales, marketing, product management, PD&L, communications & product management to guide decision making and process development  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for interaction with multiple functions and levels both in the organization and with external audiences
  • Design thinker with creative and analytical skills
  • Ability to develop and recommend new and/or modified plans and processes that enhance the impact and profitability of assigned area
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple, competing projects, demands & activities
  • Strong business acumen with ability to analyze and synthesize sales & financial data and take appropriate action as a result
  • Ability to manage budgets


Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Marketing, Sales or Business
  • Graduate degree (MBA) preferred or equivalent working experience
  • Minimum six to eight years experience in a combination of Marketing, product development, channel or sales
