Manager – US Brand PR & Media Relations

Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of US Zone communications team- working to promote Kraft Heinz and our iconic brands
- Develop and execute proactive media relations plans- including shaping and relaying the Zone business narrative and key priorities with top-tier business- lifestyle- and trade media
- Lead / support earned media efforts for multiple brands- working closely with marketing counterparts- agency partners- legal and other stakeholders to develop and execute integrated plans that leverage brand PR to drive awareness- consumer love- and a clear calls to action
- Challenge and coach cross-functional teams on how to achieve PR results that drive business objectives- supervise progress and course correct to handle constantly evolving environment
- Own key business projects / announcements from planning to execution
- Draft a wide variety of communications materials for internal and external audiences- with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Develop and implement annual communications plans that support the business and brand strategies
- Set success measures- oversee agency resources to achieve results and track progress using measurement tools
- Work closely with Zone social media team to create content that positions company as thought leader- innovator and employer of choice.
- Support our leadership with messaging and media training
- Help set and manage issues management process
- Work with internal clients across multiple functions to anticipate and address issues on topics ranging from ingredients- regulation- product quality and facilities
- Work with the Head of U.S. Communications to create central messaging repository and handle issues and crisis preparedness resources and tools- including annual risk assessment- crisis simulation and playbook
Job Qualifications
- Must have at least 4-7 years of experience in brand communications- media relations and issues management with mid-to large size company or agency
- Client-side + agency side experience required; CPG or consumer goods industry a plus.
- Passion about our work as communicators & transforming the future of brand PR
- Understanding of how to get things done in a large- matrixed organization
- Ability to drive sizable integrated communications programs that combine traditional media- partner engagement- social media- activations and influencer
- Can juggle several internal clients with limited external resources
- Ability to move in a fast paced environment and feel comfortable leading major projects within a large but fairly flat organization
- Ability to translate our business into proactive- positive storytelling
- Ability to lead day-to-day issues and reactive media
- Can understand how to present communications plans and results within a data-centric company
