Manager, Supply Chain Operations

Tallahassee, FL

The Manager, Operations manages all aspects of the company’s supply chain from the conversion of raw plant material into packaged, compliant, sellable products across the State of Arizona The Manager, Operations overall role is to deliver high-margin, high-quality products to market with speed and efficiency through vendor relation management, internal process & operations, data analysis, strong organization, and communication. This individual is a cross functional leader, interfacing with Procurement, Sales, Finance, Marketing and Operations to create excellent supply chain processes that drive growth, profitability and innovation. This role oversees the Production and Supply Chain teams, and ensures compliance with company procedures and product specifications.


What You Will Do

  • Oversee the creation and communication of supply, demand, and production plans with an emphasis on accuracy and excellence.
  • Lead all aspects of the supply chain management.
  • Primary responsibility to oversee and manage the company's overall supply chain and material movement in order to maximize the creation of Finished Goods Inventory.
  • Oversees soft goods management across all product categories, including creation of new product designs and meeting launch timelines. 
  • Oversee the conversion of raw plant material into packaged, compliant, sellable products in a timely manner.
  • Forecast inventory levels for raw material, soft goods, and finished product to keep product lines stocked according to sales forecasts.
  • Responsible for implementing quality assurance standards and testing of all bulk flower and ensuring packaged products meet company standards for compliance and branding.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, manufacturers and distributors.
  • Responsible for compiling analytics and data on supply chain yields and output for visibility to internal stakeholders.
  • Follow up with Production team leaders to ensure packaging of Biomass into FGI is timely and on schedule to enhance company revenue.
  • Oversee the Raw Material inventory and Production function including supervising inventory and production associates.
  • Demonstrate on-site leadership by modeling leadership qualities and proactively addressing concerns, conflicts, and communication hurdles with team members.
  • Drive productivity by holding the team accountable to setting daily and weekly goals for the team; and communicate and support high expectations for teamwork, mutual respect, open communication within the team and across functions.
  • Monitor the management of supplies ordering/purchasing for production including packaging, labels, equipment and other supplies.
  • Maintain standards of compliance for finished products to ensure they are packaged, labeled and system conversions are accurately recorded in the inventory management system.
  • Provide guidance for the production schedule to ensure stock levels are optimum and staff have access to accurate information.
  • Ensures employee evaluations for all direct report staff are completed annually.
  • Continuously enforces Quality standards and best practices for bulk biomass as it moves through production. 
  • Monitor the daily tracking of yields by batch, as well as hour-by-hour goal tracking. Ensure information is updated and posted daily.
  • Drives continuous improvement of SOPs to maximize efficiency, keeping quality top of mind. 
  • Ensure maintenance and cleaning of all equipment is completed daily, weekly and 3rd party maintenance is scheduled monthly and yearly as required by the vendor.


Supervisory Responsibilities: This position manages all employees of the Supply Chain Operations and Production department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring all of the employees within that department.

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, manufacturing, or other applicable field strongly preferred; Experience in lieu of education is acceptable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar operations role.
  • Prior experience supervising non-exempt employees.
  • Excellent computer and mathematics skills, data analysis; experience working in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task with excellent organization skills.
  • Experienced relationship with internal team and external partners.
  • Comfort with a fast-paced environment and changing requirements.
  • Comfortable learning new technologies.
  • Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting and ability to provide well thought out recommendations.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Safety and compliance focused.


Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance
  • Ability to climb, push, pull, stoop, grasp, walk, sit, stand, bend and reach for the duration of shift
  • Requires manual dexterity to operate job related equipment
  • Requires normal hearing range
