Manager, Strategic Finance

We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Strategic Finance Manager with strong analytical skills and leadership experience to join our Finance team, where you will play a critical role in providing business insights to measure progress on company performance and influence financial, strategic and operational decision-making. While FP&A is a part of the job, most of your analysis will fall under “BizOps” and strategy. 


Our ideal candidate is extremely analytical, detail-oriented, curious, and thoughtful. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can multi-task, prioritize projects, and roll up their sleeves to get the job done. 


Location: This role will be based at our HQ in West Hollywood, CA. We are currently operating from a hybrid environment requiring working onsite 3 days a week. This role is not eligible for remote.


What you’ll do:

  • Manage and mentor a junior associate on the finance team 
  • Oversee company models and forecasts (revenue, COGS, operating expenses, cash flows, long range plan, 3-statement) 
  • Regularly lead the collaboration and partnerships with cross-functional teams (e.g. Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, Product, Data) to provide data-driven, strategic recommendations that directly impact all facets of the business 
  • Analyze and closely monitor KPIs including membership acquisition trends, subscriber purchasing behaviors, retention by cohorts, customer LTV, CPA, etc., and proactively identify opportunities and risks 
  • Evaluate unit economics and contribution margins for existing and new product offerings and make recommendations to enhance the company’s profitability
  • Drive ad hoc special projects on subscriber, business, and strategic initiatives 
  • Support future capital raising (debt and equity) and assist in corporate development and M&A initiatives
  • Direct analysis of future demand to provide executive team and key stakeholders real-time business updates and demand planning recommendations 
  • Prepare the company’s Board presentation and arrange materials for senior management, investors, banks, and external parties 
  • Manage the monthly variance analysis process and provide insightful analysis and reporting on performance to understand key drivers and business trends 


What you’ll bring: 

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in prior finance/analytical roles (investment banking, consulting, strategic finance, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field preferred 
  • Strong problem solving skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail and the ability to build clean, efficient, and complex models from scratch 
  • Ability to collaborate with teams across the company and strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong work ethic, curiosity, positive attitude, and a willingness to embrace unstructured environments and challenges 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a highly motivated team 
  • Ability to work independently, handle competing priorities, and manage deadlines under pressure, and a desire to take ownership of projects to drive them to completion with limited guidance 
  • Advanced knowledge of the 3 statements and corporate finance concepts
  • Ability to juggle demands of independent analytical contribution alongside nurturing and directing team members in financial, accounting, and/or strategic analyses relevant to the business
  • Drive for continuous improvement and longer time-horizon thinking about process and tools while keeping the “trains running on time”


Bonus points if you have: 

  • Experience with a subscription and e-commerce business
  • Familiarity with BI dashboards (e.g. Tableau)
  • Interest in fitness, health and wellness, fashion, and/or beauty
  • Previous startup experience
  • Investment banking experience


Compensation:

The expected base salary range for this position is $135K - $150K.


The compensation package will also include an initial equity grant, bonus, in addition to a range of generous medical, dental, vision and other perks & benefits.


Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job-related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education / certifications. If we extend an offer for employment, we will consider all individual qualifications.
