Software Engineering Manager to support the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) program, Warfighter Simulation & Services (WSS) Agile Release Train (ART), Ballistic Missile Defense International Simulation (I-Sim) project. The job is located in Colorado Springs, CO.


This is a dual role encompassing both functional management and technical performance within a program. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. The candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading Engineering teams.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Software Development
  • Must be experienced in all aspects of the software development lifecycle
  • Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • High proficiency of technical problem solving
  • Familiarity with the Ballistic Missile Defense System
  • This position requires US citizenship and ability to obtain an active Secret clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical or management specialty
  • Expertise in C++ and/or C#
  • Direct supervisory experience and/or significant team leadership
  • Working knowledge of simulation software
  • Agile development experience


Salary Range: $108,700 USD - $163,100 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
